  1. Thanks for the feedback. I know it's stupid but I didn't call the cops because the driver admitted it was her fault on the scene and didn't contest it. KK wrote "Go to the bus company itself. You'd be surprised how often they DONT stick up for their drivers." - Arriva are the bus company and the guy we spoke to there was a total pr**k - full of attitude - who said that they NEVER admit liability even if they're plainly in the wrong. "Why would we?" was his less than helpful response. When I complained I'd lose my No-claims-bonus or have to pay the excess because they are contesting fault he replied "Well, that's your problem then, isn't it?". A real charmer. We did think of the CCTV and the insurance co. said they'd look into requesting that. We shall see. For the mo I just want the car fixed. People are walking past out house and pointing at the car. I don't want to be accused of bringing down the tone of the neighbourhood. (Although we probably did that the day we moved in!);-)

It ran a red light where the bus lane joins the main lane just before the road runs under the bridge at East Dulwich Station.
  3. I was involved in a tiff with the 176 this morning. At the bottom of DKH, across from Dominos at about 08:30. The nice lady driving the bus admitted responsibility (hooray), but the nasty man in Arriva said they never admit liability (Ya-boo!) so will have to claim through my own insurance co.. None of the potential witnesses stopped to give details and since the driver admitted responsibility I didn't persecute any by-standers - not a great idea, in hindsight. Right now a witness would be a very good thing. (As would a pint but that's not the point... Focus!!) I appreciate that some forum users were tucked up in bed, nursing lovely hangovers (post the EDF pints last pm) but I thought it might be worth a shot. Help appreciated. Feel free to PM if you are / know a witness. Likewise feel free to publicly berate me and my naivet? in the open forum if you are not.
  4. If this is such a problem then the only way to change it is to phone or write a letter of complaint. Every complaint received needs to be acknowledged and responded to, and is fed further up the chain from each practice to the PCT. (see here for details) I would encourage every EDFite here with a grievance to complain (preferably by writing). Try to complain about only one thing but make it very clear what that thing is - eg phone-back is at incorrect times, long cue/wait on phone etc. Above all be objective and preferably brief (you don't want to be perceived as a rambling whinger). Having a moan on this forum is useful for garnering opinions but will do nothing to change their system. Healthcare is something to be taken very seriously, especially trials of new systems you feel are not working to your benefit. One of the measures used to assess how successful the system is will be complaints and or satisfaction surveys. If you don't complain the system will be proven to work!
  5. Hmmm... Animal faeces and human urine, barely masked by the odour of Jeye's fluid! Reminds me of a hotel I stayed in near the Airport.
  6. I'll be there, cheering you on from the safety of the other side of the road. It's hard to run with both legs in plaster you know!
  7. And perhaps I shall follow you around the place, untidying it as I go like an ungrateful, irritating virtual child.:))
  8. Agreed. The pavement is 'public' property ( or perhaps more correctly Southwark Council property). This colourful sounding character has no rights to it himself. Perhaps the-friend-with-the-dogs should have allowed him to call the police and waited for them to arrive. During that time hopefully the other dog would have had a pee too. Or even a crap that she could have cleaned up and then asked him if she could put it in his bin. Or mouth. I think I shall pop down there and ask for some wool and when he asks me what kind I shall reply - in a useless blokey kind of way - that I don't know, the missus sent me. I'll let everyone know how I got on when I leave hospital.

  11. Could we arrange Urban Fox Hunts where we all get p1ss3d up wearing lycra and spin around the streets of ED on Vespas chasing after the blighters. We could signal the hunt with air horns or better still the music from an ice-cream van. Later we could repair to the lounge at Adventure for sherry and cake.

Nonsense! There weren't any foxes living in this house when I moved in! Just an old lady and her dog. I think they're still up in the attic. That reminds me...
  13. How about if I bury a corpse in the garden. Will the smell of human repel them or will the smell of corpse flesh attract them? Sounds like an interesting project!! Anyone any 'experience' in this department? Or suggestions as to whom I should 'plant'? (We could start a new thread).
  14. You should try the Somerfield in Camberwell. Brings an entirely different meaning to Crime Hot Spot. If you fancy some Extreme Shopping - give it a go! It could change/end your life!
  15. I like the idea of decking them.
  16. I foolishly tried to plant a "Herb Garden" patch out in front of my house and these pests dug up all the seeds and sh@t all over the place. they did this every night for about a month but haven't been about so much of late - unless we just don't hear them anymore. they get really annoying and noisy in the autumn and winter. informative but practically useless link: http://www.wildlifetrust.org.uk/urbanwt/WIS_pages/Foxes.htm
  17. Is that two mornings in a row you've got up late now? Sounds like it's time to play "Change The Day".
  18. All this talk of jar is making me thirsty. And it's only 09:30. Anyone know what time majestic is open? I could do some damage to a dozen bottles of red!
