It's a shame to say it but I honestly think that Benitez is not quite the ticket any more. When he first joined Liverpool he had the air of someone who was up for the challange and positive in everything he did and said and commanded some respect. Nowadays I can't help but feel a little sorry for him, he does look like he is carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. It got to the point a while ago in a new conference that a Spanish reporter asked him why he was so fat, which is so uncalled for it's not true but he wearily tried to laugh it off. I just think he's had enough and isn't quite up for the challenge any more. Can you imagine any other Premiership manager taking sh*t like that from any reporter? I'm not having a pop for pops sake I honestly think he's had enough and that's a shame for the premiership as a whole.

The goals scored by Messi last night seemed of similiar ilk to those Rooney would/could score until life became simple with being able to score with his head. They both seem capable of bagging a brace every ither game - Messi 31 goles for the season - Rooney 32.

I didnt see the game against Valencia but sounds like the labelling of Rooney as the best player/striker in the world are a little indulgent? Much as I'd love Rooney to be that player (being a Utd fan)
