I very much doubt the owners of All Bar One would tell anyone that called them up to confirm or denie a potential business opportunity of theirs. But I could be wrong. I think that this thread has missed one important point here ..and that is that ABO may be looking to open a site BUT... they may not open it as an ABO. ABO actually own the White Hart in Palace and the Phoenix in Denmark Hill station and many others without the ABO branding and associated culture. Would have thought one such establishment might work on LL?

Get a fake Owl! When we moved in, there was one still in our garden but could tell what it is for. We don't have a problem with pigeons and dont want to risk it by removing said owl. I too visited it today...... and enjoyed all that I had .... blackcurrant and hibiscus tea with ham and mustard clubsandwich sandwich - Mrs B having had a crab and avocado sandwich and mint tea. I'm not one for scrimping in anyway shape or form ... but is ?25 not a little exorbitant for 2 sandwiches and 2 teas? I will return but not if I'm if I'm famished.

I just need to know for sure please! Has anyone been able to simply rent a DVD from Apollo/Film Nites on LL, take it home and watch the film from start to finish without any problems? I just can't believe that the 2 DVD players and 2 laptops in my house are all faulty... but may be? Anyone else have the same problem?

Hi Georgia ... well to improve your geography some what .... they're a group of volcanic islands just off the coast of Italy... Apparently the total inhabitance of one island upped and left one day in the 50's and all went to live in Australia .. random but true! I agree RosieH - definitely dont need to buy our clothes locally and dont think I ever have .... but pray tell where would you recommend? (for men that is........) it is after all all too easy to buy decent(ish) womens clothes. Does your "knowledge" cater for men? Ingtrigued....

Walk to the Herne on Forest Hill Road ... Palmerston food but at decent prices. Simply cannot be bettered ... and you don't have the the chairs that are way to high for the tables (a la Franklins styleeee - very odd!)

I live nearby and was told by Mr Bell sr (used to own Bells Plumbing merchants) .. so I have it on good authority. That is presuming Mr Bell still has his full set of marbles!

If you like burgers, you wouldn't go to GBK. If you like value for money you wouldn't go to GBK. If you like to eat in a warm and comfortable environment with friendly service you wouldn't eat in GBK. I'd never go back there ..... once was enough. I've a burger lover it has to be said and for my money you simply cannot beat the burgers at the Magdala (unless I'm kaing them myself from William Rose mince) - no vested interest in Magdala, I simply know what I like.... I've even tried to find out from the chef what she puts in them .. but to no avail! :(
