  1. Just spotted this http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/2009/feb/26/antony-gormley-fourth-plinth Is anyone going to apply? And what would you spend your hour doing?
  2. Actually I have eaten both on Saturday and Sunday lunch times and never been disturbed by "verminous" children... in fact the space seems large enough to embrace all manners of families and diners.
  3. Ahhhh too slow - I see you have already answered the individual cafetieres question - sorry!
  4. When you say cafetieres, are you actually thinking small single person ones which you give to the person allowing them to plunge and pour as they wish? If so, then that would work a treat and you just need to find a good coffee supplier. But I do agree with Queen of Dulwich regarding coffee made and kept warm.... very unpleasant stuff. Good luck with your venture.
  5. Happy Birthday to both Hibbs and PGC! Hope you both have a fabulous year ahead! x
  6. They were indeed jolly good.... soaring harmonies and some great random banter as Tingwee says about Bush, beards, and randomly Jo Whiley! First time I had been to the Roundhouse and I thought it a lovely venue too.

But Mick Mac, surely crushes aren't always directly related to our sexuality or sexual leanings. In fact as a teenager I would say I had quite a few crushes on girls - as in gazing from afar with admiration - yearning to just be them, rather than be with them. It's more about some people just having a flicker of a spark about them that ignites something indescribable within you.
  8. Ahhh and we have come full circle - the lovely Tilly being the first birthday to kick this thread off! Phew! Hope you had a great year Tillie and hope the next one's a goodie too. Happy Birthday!
  9. And don't forget you can actually bring your own food for a small plattage (sp?) of three pounds. I've done this on a couple of occasions - a takeaway from Sea Cow, and a bottle of wine from Green and Blue makes a lovely treat.

  11. "directed at people what should know better" Mmmm, not sure about that clause either Sean.

I think Charlie explained quite well what she meant. If you give energy and time to negative things in your life - be they thoughts; enemies; bitchiness... all manner of negative things, then things will just get worse. Instead, observe what's happening and how you are feeling and then just put them to one side.... just let go. And eventually they will lose their hold over you. Easy, innit?
  13. Yes yes yes! I have always wanted to do one of these...there was a giant pillow fight one once ....brilliant idea giggirl. But shhhhh.....we mustnt reveal when or where, must we?
  14. "Be responsive to people, but not responsible for them"
  15. Happy Birthday Bob!
  16. "and you have some sexiting times later" Mmmm, surely sexiting is that last farewell fuck before you move onto pastures new?
  17. It's a charity CD Mr Carnell..... that is absolutely shocking. Tsk.
  18. They did look after us well last time... I remember it being a goodie. It's in the diary...looking forward to it.

Aside from the innocuous "can you recommend a doctor" post; I decided to launch myself on the forum with a small tirade against Green and Blue .... and spent the next few months furiously back-pedalling and trying to convince people I wasn't the spawn of Satan. Considering I have whiled many hours away in Green and Blue since, and even more on this forum, no harm was done, except perhaps to my liver.
  20. "Im gonna wash that man right outta my hair" from South Pacific....the perfect shower song.
  21. Darling AnnaJ... a very happy birthday!
  22. What Peckhamrose said. "There are people who deserve our help or support more"....personally that's a judgement call too far for me. Comparing two situations is unhelpful ...I would like to think there is not a finite amount of compassion in each of us.
  23. I suspect Moos is right....and the mysterious 140183 could well be Snorky. Personally I would quite like a "I'm a little bit in love with Snorky" thread.... not that I agree with everything s/he says but they are a bit like a firecracker, shaking us up a bit... and delivered with originality and verve.
  24. Definitely half full.... nah, better than that... it's almost full to the brim with darn fine wine. I am blessed with very good people in my life and a sense that ultimately, whilst life is not without its troubles and niggles, I am a lot happier than I have been in the past. And the future - though uncertain - I believe will ultimately be a happy one. As Sweet Charity in one of my favourite musicals would put it: "And she lived hopefully ever after"

I grew rather fond of the Annasfield ad - the one with lots of men in little briefs.. but this one has far much muscle for my liking.... all that time spent in the gym, when would he have time to cook my dinner and run my bath?
