  1. Looks like a no from us too.....sorry. (*whispers*...can we go back to Fridays please)
  2. 0ops .... And *bob* too. (that reminds me of a film title!)
  3. Darling Mockney... how did I miss it? Hope you had a lovely one!

  5. I found a link about Teddington's blackest black http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/2732487.stm
  6. C-S - I wasn't questioning your right to an opinion on Susan Boyle - but, since so many column inches of press have been devoted to this woman (and I am including broadsheets alongside tabloids) then actually we might as well be factual and refer to her as having learning difficulties, rather than merely throwing around phrases that make her sound like a village idiot.

Brain damaged at birth, Susan Boyle has diagnosed learning difficulties - if that is what is meant by not looking like she was "all there". Max Clifford for once said something worth listening to this morning - that she should have been "protected rather than promoted". I think this is one of the most shameful episodes in recent tv history - I hope ITV do their best to repair the damage.
  8. Virgin install phone lines, broadband, tv, etc.... and you don't need a BT line. My initial experience with them wasn't great - they failed to turn up on two installation dates - but installation worked out at ?30 if I remember rightly; and their overall package was much cheaper.
  9. I think we were thinking of coming along in the afternoon. Will be lovely to see some mini-forumites.:)
  10. Hoorah! Many congrats to a lovely couple. And to think it all began with a game of scrabble....
  11. Is she a local author? Would she prepared to do an author evening.... if so, Review on Bellenden Road sometimes holds such events. Typically an independent bookstore will look for around a 35-40% discount. As for chains.... just don't bother, they are all ordered centrally. You could upload the book yourself on Amazon if you were a pro-merchant seller (costs around ?28 a month). Good luck.
  12. A very Happy Birthday to the gorgeous Allycat! As for the other birthday celebrant? I can't possibly recall..blond? intelligent? Nope...have no idea at all! :)
  13. RosieH Wrote: "if ever I need a man with > a van, I know who I'll be calling." I think I must be the only person in East Dulwich to have used this service. And I hate to disappoint but it wasn't a great experience.... "man with a van"? Nope, read that graffiti scrawl again: Driver with a van. They refuse to get out of the driver's seat without additional payment. And that information is delivered in such a charmless manner, that one's memory of the quirky cheerful red van soon seems strangely discordant.
  14. Happy Birthday LG! Hope you have a lovely one. x
  15. Hee hee - Charliecharlie of course!
  16. Very unlikely we are going to make this.... but may stagger in at closing time. Hope it's a good night.
  17. I was pretty surprised to see the Hamlet tickets - there was a mention of how much they were selling on Ebay and I couldn't help but feel that that is the place for that seller then.... after all, are they planning on donating 15% of the money received to the forum. Mmmmm? I think not. Me? I am selling my Madame de Sade tickets (or not selling if truth be told) but only at face value. Which I hope and think is okay.
  18. Hoorah hoorah! What wonderful news... many congratulations to Mr and Mrs Keef.
  19. A huge congratulations to the now-employed David-Carnell! All that hard work and persistance has paid off! And those devilish good looks and easy charm clearly worked at interview! Well done!
  20. Is this research for the Prince Albert? Mmmm, I'm getting excited now! Perhaps you could try Sopers in Nunhead or Moxons on Lordship Lane - both fantastic local suppliers.
  21. Mmmmm, from top to toe indeed - I must say I go weak at the sight of men in sandals. In fact I think I have in the past dated men precisely on that quality - neglecting to spot the overgrown facial hair at the time, so obsessed was I with their toes. But then I have kissed many frogs - and little wonder since what type of shoes do frogs wear? Open toad sandals of course!

  23. I spent about three hours in a police cell aged 12. I had been caught bunking off school (my mother actually would call the police on such occasions) and they found me in Leicester Square Empire cinema watching A Chorus Line. I think she must have told them to lock me up to scare me..... I got the full works - stripped of my hairband and my money belt. I refused dinner and instead spent the entire time turning pirouettes like some crazed thing - don't think the cell had ever seen such action. Five years later I came into regular contact over three summers with the old bill as a tap dancer busking in Leicester Square and Covent Garden.... that film had a lot to answer for.
