After watching many of this guy's videos, am rather envious of you, Portugal looks amazing and the people seem pretty chill too, congratulations on the big step and breaking away from the smoke!

Went past Goose Green a few hours ago, the only person in there was a dog owner/walker idly watching their dog poo on the grass then walked away.

Suggestion to reduce single use plastic locally
se22cat replied to simn's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
If the local restaurants who offer takeaways got together, perhaps they could offer a standardised container made from say bamboo which could be used at any of the local joints? When you buy one, a percentage of the cost could go to an environmental charity, and when you order food you could get a discount for using a reusable container, just a thought. -
That's extremely odious behaviour by that self-serving individual, one is tempted to describe it as cuntish. Sorry to hear about your car : (

This is a real shame, had a good few really great brunches here with a mate, staff never hurried us to leave after eating, absolutely delicious food, great coffee and imho the nicest & friendliest staff in London. Will miss the place!

Lame window cleaning scam - Goose Green area
se22cat replied to se22cat's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Just to be clear I'm not blaming the Police, it's not their fault and they can only do so much with their increasingly limited resources. It's the government and council that have repeatedly screwed ED over to the point where unless you get murdered you can basically forget any form of action from the Police as there's just not enough of them and even when they are able to investigate, find themselves off the beat due to the crazy amounts of admin work. At least when we had James as councillor he actually pushed for some form of visible policing. -
Lame window cleaning scam - Goose Green area

The only Police Patrol I've seen in Goose Green in recent years is their pilgrimage to local eateries. Should get a council tax reduction due to zero service! -
Lame window cleaning scam - Goose Green area
se22cat replied to se22cat's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I asked around our neighbours, he tried it on all of them the same day. So, in fact, scam. Reported the turd in human form to the Police, who will, of course, do nothing. -
Had saved up for an awful long time for a good sized graphics tablet as I've been stumbling through learning most of the Adobe suite the last few years and really enjoying it. Went to Pimlico Library to get some practice on Illustrator in, went away from the desk for less than a minute to get a book before setting my ageing old laptop up only to find the bag containing my new tablet had been taken. Looked around but it was pretty packed and couldn't see anyone with it. Library staff said they couldn't see anything on the cctv due to where I was sitting and people in the way of view. If anyone reading this sees one offered that looks immaculate please get in touch so I can try reporting the ad to the Police. Not getting my hopes up, but after five years of putting change away am pretty gutted.

A couple of days ago a badly printed piece of paper was put through our letter box stating something along the lines of "Windows cleaned - will return for payment next week". Funny, and opportunistic as we had not asked for anyone to clean our windows, and they had not been touched. A few minutes ago a white guy in his early 50s rang our bell and said he was here to "take payment for the windows done". I told him that we hadn't asked for this, and they hadn't been cleaned, that even if they had been he wouldn't get a penny (should have offered him a chocolate coated pretzel instead). He then said "the lady who lives downstairs asked". Funny as ours is a house, not flats and my wife hates having her peace disturbed by dirtbags like this. Anyway, he wandered off muttering to himself. Just thought I'd post a heads up in case you know any elderly or vulnerable people in the area who might get caught by this very old and pathetic con.

Felling of oak trees in Sydenham Hill Wood
se22cat replied to Brian up the hill's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Although I am entirely ignorant towards any reasoning why the trees are being earmarked for felling, it angers and frustrates me that, as Angelina says, the council seem to have an awful history with regards to felling, rather than trying to save trees. I absolutely adore the trees in the wood, especially the oaks and hope in the very least a second opinion is sought before we lose them. -
The wonderful and caring Dr P sadly suffered a serious injury and is currently in the process of recovery. Our thoughts are with her, the best Dr in Dulwich. The practice has been renegotiating the terms of pay with their locums and so for the past two months appointments have been cancelled a day before, or even the same day it's utter chaos. One of the decent locums has decided to stay on for the time being, but that's not saying much.

That name sounds familiar, pretty sure he was in my class in Heber School and joined in the last year there...Small world! -
This is an awful thing to happen to you, Sue, hope you do report it. Might be worth investing in a doorbell/security camera combo such as Ring which get discounted online sometimes, that way you don't have to face such horrible people again & it gives you a sense of safety. I hope the rest of the week is less stressful and you can put it past you, not nice having a shakeup like this, and hearing it happen to someone who does a lot for the community saddens me even more.

There's an exploit they abuse to steal TFL bikes, it was a well kept secret for a while, but now I see those bikes miles away from a locking station & it's not so unusual to see them locked up around ED & Peckham. Have seen kids break the back locks of Lime bikes & other hire bikes in less than a minute. The Uber bikes are supposed to have a much better lock which probably explains why you don't see tards riding them.

There's some dubious looking teens on stolen Lime bikes around Goose Green looking like they're assessing potential phone donors of late. Reported them to 101 but with no more Police in the area, fat lot of good reporting anything these days...

It's my favourite building in the area. An utter travesty and crying shame the way it's been treated.

I can understand not wanting to use Onedrive (though it works pretty well) but what happens if/when the serverfarm Carbonite use has a fire/flood/goes out of business? Always best to use two cloud services and a remote box at a relative/trusted friends place (though if you encrypt everything, no need for them to even be a trusted friend...).

Anyone faced with the prospect of living next to that leavetard would surely be stocking up on eggboxes to block out the verbal diarrhea emanating from his bun hole.

No issues here. If you have concerns, try running it as a VM.
