  1. Update received just now at 00.19 Update at 00:17 - We believe our engineers have been able to restore power to all 1718 customers in the London SE22 area, by diverting power around the underground network fault. Due to the nature of this issue, if your power isn't back on we'll need to hear from you. To report this, or to talk to us about anything else, call us on 08003163105 which is free from landlines and mobiles. We understand how difficult a power cut can be, so we're sorry for any disruption or worry this caused you. Being without power during the current pandemic can be especially difficult, but please rest assured that as key workers, our staff will continue to work around the clock to keep the lights on. If you have any concerns or questions, give us a call any time.
  2. Power was out for about 30 minutes, Here are the updates from EDF in case you are unable to get through on the phone to them As of 23:34 here is a summary of the issue - We became aware of the fault at 23:00. The cause is a fault with an underground cable in the London SE22 area, our engineers were dispatched to site at 23:07. The current status of the issue is that we've assigned engineers to locate and fix the issue; they are now on their way, the estimated timeframe to have power back on is 01:30 to 02:30. We'll be in touch when we have more information. Update at 23:44 - We've remotely diverted electricity around the faulty part of the network, restoring power to 545 properties. This leaves 349 properties affected by the underground network fault. We'll keep sending text updates to everyone until all the power to your area is on. If you want to stop receiving texts, please just send CANCEL to 80876 (standard text fees apply).
  3. You could also slip in a white dog turd if you find one of the legendary beasts that can still be spotted around ED now and again :)
  4. I sincerely hope you catch it & are removed from the gene-pool with asinine opinions like that, "jim"
  5. Happened to us just now, no sign or sound of kids on the street, had our downstairs front window open. Saw the wiry framed excrement eating mother fornicator knock on the door as I was walking up the passage. As soon as they saw someone was coming to the door they ran off, couldn't see a sign of them when I looked outside so they must've run off into a neighbors garden. This was on Crawthew Grove, which had a couple of burglaries some time back. Our road isn't known for kids messing around on as it's pretty much all babies and toddlers.
  6. Depending on the member of staff on duty, the trolleys next to the entrance are sometimes wiped with antiseptic spray before being put back into use.
  7. Hi, please don't take my message above as criticism, it's not. I have helped mentor people who have been in extreme financial difficulty and a couple of them mentioned to me last year that when they were initially referred to Pecan when they couldn't afford to eat and been refused an advance by the Job Center or been sanctioned either by them for something as petty as being late for a meeting at a third party provider that after a certain number of visits to Pecan they were required to have a token which they were only entitled to and had to be agreed on by their job coach, which IIRC were limited to a certain number of. I think it's great that Pecan now offer home deliveries, but would hope that, especially during this pandemic that they would make their aid accessible to those in this area seeing as they are receiving donations from it. The total lack of action by our councillor in Goose Green ward is very disappointing and something that I feel would have been addressed long ago if James Barber had been voted in again as he was always excellent in dealing with social issues. I think the scheme you mentioned looks fantastic - again - something for which the council could easily self fund. Given the average salary for people in SE22 and the number of house rebuilds done before residents move in & the amount of expensive cars and ?5 loaves of bread sold, I would hope that the many well off around here will see it in their hearts to contribute towards it. I imagine it will be of great help to many in the coming weeks and months. By your username, you probably already know that Raymond Chandler attended Dulwich College :) Thank you for stepping up and making a difference.
  8. Just thought it worth mentioning that people require a voucher (unless this has suddenly changed)to be able to receive food from Pecan, unlike the centre on Dog Kennel Hill & elsewhere in the area, making them a far from ideal place for many ED residents in need to access. It also requires travel outside of the area in a time when this needs to be avoided. Naturally, I applaud the work being done here, but imho it could and should be directed to more local efforts.
  9. If your hard drive has a bad sector where the docs folder is located, or if some files there are located on one+ then Win10 in particular has a habit of freezing & even crashing until you restart explorer.exe. Another likely explanation is the file allocation table has been corrupted - it's never a good idea to keep any user generated files on the c drive, kids! You can easily create a bootable Live Linux Mint, Ubuntu or PopOS usb stick {remembering to turn off secure boot in your bios] which will allow you to browse the hard disc & if the folder isn't buggered to then copy the files to another usb stick/drive, When this is done, run a test on the drive with crystal disk info, then mark to check if the drive is healthy or not & consider running your OS on SSD & your files on another drive & setup at least one regular cloud backup. Migrating to Linux full time or a dual boot solution [one OS per drive is best] will cause you less headaches too :)
  10. The problem there is the minefield of dog turds.

    Queues

Lucky you tomskip - hasn't been my experience in & around the area lately - today a 30ish female with the appearance & manners of a hag tried to bully her way into a queue outside Lloyds Pharmacy, wheezing and coughing both in the direction of us at the front of the queue and staff at the entrance and was still trying it on when I left. The staff there are fantastic so I really felt for them. Not 5 mins after an alcohol abusing couple "all the way from the Old Kent Road" began abusing staff when told what they wanted wasn't in stock and had been generally unpleasant in the queue beforenand. On Saturday, after waiting an hour to get in via a pretty well behaved queue, bar the ADD addled morons holding everyone up staring into their mindless socials, I can't even describe the beast as female, yet alone human drove up right outside the entrance at Sainsburys, walked with nary a grimace to the back of her brand new Mercedes, pulled out a crutch, then after a few steps miraculously developed a comical limp & tried to jump the queue. On being shown the sign for people with disabilities, the scumbag, after some arguing about "her rights" made a swift turn and marched back to her car, not skipping a beat. A few days before outside Iceland in Peckham, there must've been 40+ people outside, had one lady in front of me when a scrawny piece of shite ran across the road and tried to push in front of me. Despite being called out by me, this stinking pile of excrement refused not only to observe any form of social distancing, but also to go to the back of the queue. Even tried the race card to the obviously exhausted security guard who eventually told him to get to the back of the queue. The lines outside both Moxons and William Rose, neither of which I patronise were both long and full of people less than an arms distance apart, and with the all too familiar sight of people coughing into their hands with nary a surgical glove or mask in sight - utter madness. Hate to think my health is being compromised by such people in Goose Green, and patience being very sorely tested.
  12. Someone's made this unforgivable behaviour into an art project: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/in-pictures-52188627 counted 14 on the way home from the laundrette this morning :(
  13. How about leaving the gas on & going to stay with a friend overnight?
  14. Dulwich handy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > F*** the circumstances > Slightly racist..... > Or is it me ?! Do you even know what an ABC1 even is? What a moron.
  15. Just been - took just over an hour to get in - well spaced queue outside for a change. Tons of toilet paper, pasta - limited to 2 items only, irrespective of brand - was on the shelves, but not much & 90% gone. Basmati available, but overpriced & poor quality only. Plenty of tissues. No soap, no unflavoured tofu, instant ramen, fruit & veg more than 1/2 full. You can only exit by the exit near the starbucks now -security happy to stare at their whatsapp chat at the tills till you reach the entrance. Staff seemed pushed to their limit, no sign of management, Argos packed with zero spacing. Still seems to be too many people in the store at one time, but things seem to be improving, but for how long nobody knows.
  16. Bloody council should be out using their paint for this rather than their retarded anti-resident CPZ crap.
  17. It's sunny, but still chilly, the perfect warming dish is Japanese curry rice, if you luck out & find some vegetables for sale! You can get the roux from The Rice Wine Shop [cheapest] or even from Amazon. Here's how to make this easily adaptable & highly addictive meal
  18. Saw a healthy sounding Bumblebee in our garden today, even said hello to him it was such a delight to behold :)
  19. Personally, I'm incredibly appreciative of the NHS & it's workers, but there's no way I'd risk my or my wife's health by doing this it's ridiculously counter productive. Thankfully it's not happening on our street. I've signed up as a telephone volunteer, something that won't contribute to the spread of the virus & supports the NHS which the government continues to undermine & underfund.
  20. I can't help thinking that with the way housing stock is set out in most of ED, that being at the doorstep, less than 2 metres apart on many streets is perhaps not so smart... Maybe tweeting support would be a much better idea.

  22. What a handsome looking cat, it's lucky he looks so distinctive & will stand out if spotted. Really hope he comes home/is found soon :)
  23. Today at around 9.30 the queue went outside the car park, seemed good natured, but non-moving so I went to Peckham instead, delightful scenes of men & women alike spitting on streets & kerbs. Price increases in Sainsbury's are direct increases, nothing to do with promos.
  24. Keep clear of the builder working on a house halfway up Archdale Road - just went past on the way to the chemist & the retard hawked up and spat repeatedly on the pavement in front of me. An exchange of words was had outside of spitting range.
  25. kerry - too many to mention, 2/3 of what I've managed to buy in the last week or so have had this happen, it's pure profiteering from the scumbags stripping the shelves.
