  1. Is the bobby with fair hair, often does his beat carrying a black folder? Patrols LL and side roads? If so he's a fantastic bloke and deserves a great send off.
  2. The BBC did a nice video piece on this a while back. There was a section in our local govt building in Sapporo that offered the same service and was much used. Space is kinda expensive in ED though.
  3. We get 8meg DL 1meg UL with Sky, the same speeds we had with BE (before Sky bought them). Pretty atrocious really.
  4. Now the Tories are in power again, perhaps there will be an increase in demand for such stiletto related services.
  5. A pair of rescue cats
  6. The British Heart Foundation collect some items & you can book pickups online.
  7. Peckham Rye Park looks a lot better maintained than Dulwich Park in recent years. It's such a fantastic space and always in use, have always loved it. Plus I have yet to see rats there, although I do avoid it in barbecue season.
  8. Samsung batteries *always* seem to start failing after a year, even when charged according to modern battery guidelines. Their cameras usually deal with colour better than HTC whose colour images are imho unusable, and only the next lot of models from Samsung will be bloat-free. Their builds of Android differ a lot from other vendors for some reason. HTC have very good build quality (though only metal on premium models) and their Sense wrapper may not be for all - their UK support are pretty decent, unlike the horror story of Samsung's godawful idea of after-sales support. The recent crop of Sony phones are fantastic, if you can deal with the considerable bloat applied.
  9. If they are anywhere near me, I could pop round and feed, fuss, and check up on him for her. I love cats.
  10. Dammit, I voted Liberal on the sole basis that I hoped James would win his seat. There's always next time though.
  11. Foxy, we all re-registered on-line a good while back; called the council who said "they are a bit late".
  12. We haven't received our polling cards either, poor show Southwark Council!

    Barbers

Barry Road Barbers are fantastic, definitely recommended, the barber opposite East Street market has always been good to me (no beer though).

    Old computer

I did a month's volunteering for the company that run the Sydenham recycling project in their Deptford branch, helping to strip and rebuild machines. They are really good people and also offer help to local residents who lack IT skills.

    Old computer

Hi, how old are we talking? Is it in working order? Could you upload a picture? I enjoy re-purposing old/ish decks as emulation machines then passing them on.
  16. This is frankly disgusting, and it seems that Southwark and Lambeth councils are all too happy and pally with landlords and developers, resulting in a distressingly negative impact on those on low incomes in London. I hope you manage to attract some media attention and have your voices heard.
  17. Somebody was living in it for a while, not sure if that's still the case, there were some bottles of leftover energy drink left around it too on the pavement the other week.
  18. Saw Star Wars at West Norwood Library in '77 on a primary school trip, moved out of there to ED in '80 due to heroin needles being left in the green outside our house, dad made the right choice. I bet West Norwood has changed a bit, used to drink at The Rosendale in the mid-late 90s when it was a rowdy boozer (the best kind).
  19. One probably snatched the last box of Cap 'n Crunch from the shelf or something

    Sneering

How about getting the curry from Iceland?

    Pak Choi

Try Peckham or Charing Cross libraries for some Korean cook books? It's used in lots of tasty Korean dishes. If you are stuck for other ingredients, H Mart in New Malden is Xbox LARGE and has a fantastic fresh produce section - it puts all the Chinatown supermarkets to shame imho.
  23. Over the years I've noticed, come Spring and Summer, it appears to be a "thing" for groups of late teens-early 20 males to steal a moped each and drive around the city for the day/night. From the way they ride them, it's pretty obvious they don't own them. I know a few people who have also just given up travelling by moped due to the repeated number of times they are stolen, rode the hell out of then abandoned, or never turn up, not to mention having petrol stolen all the time. With almost zero visible Police on the streets and no CCTV in the area, it's sadly a paradise for thieves and burglars around here.

    Day Trips

Bath and Stratford upon Avon are both fantastic day trips, even better if you can stay overnight.
  25. Pretty damn sure I saw Richard Ayoade running towards the EDT at 12.00 this afternoon. I wanted to do the Windows rebooting sound, but was on the P13.
