  1. I'll be there P. Looking forward to my cake and coffee!!
  2. If anyone is around tomorrow (tuesday) morning... Fancy Green & Blues from 10am?
  3. The first thing I thought of was that you need swaddling! Sorry.. am in newborn mode and have had a large amount of wine!
  4. Please see other thread.. I don't understand what's happened to remainder of post!!
  5. I recently had a maternity and toddler photoshoot with http://custardcreamphotography.com/ and I had to post how happy we are with the photos. Carla photographed my 2 year old and she was so relaxd and happy the photos are beautiful. Grandad can't look at one of the photos without getting teary as it captures her '7 mile stare' so naturally. I also had my 2nd pregnancy bump photographed and now, after delivering second daughter, am desperate to get Carla to capture her first few weeks too!! I ended up getting 2 x prints and 10 files on disc (both in black and white) and it was so reasonably priced and I couldn't NOT have them! There is absolutely no pressure to buy, no hard sell and the files are kept on their system so there's no urgency to order either. The best photography experience I've encountered and WHEN (huh hum....) I get married to beautiful babies' Daddy I will definitely know who to call!!

  7. I am soooo pleased for you Ruth! Thea is a name I toyed with... beautiful! I have no doubt that Oakwood were fantastic again and I hope you get 'released' from hospital soon. I am around without toddler on Monday and Tuesday morning if anyone fancies a meet up (Mothercourage and I were thinking about a possible Bishop meet!!) I would love to meet more of the WBC babies. I will be around with toddler from Wednesday and only concrete plans are Diddi dance on Friday at 10am so let me know if anyone is around with older children next week too. So exciting to hear about all the babies popping out and I'm sure I saw a WBC mum to be in King's yesterday (we were the ones setting off the alarm for the car parking machine!!) Have alovely weekend and hope to see some of you next week Anna
  8. Caroline... Poor you! There's still plenty of time for little one to turn. Have you heard of Moxibustion? A couple of friends had it 'to turn' their babies and whether it was the treatment or just coincidence, it worked. Have a look at this link http://www.londonacupuncture.co.uk/showCondition.asp?ArticleID=4 it explains a bit more. Better than manual turning though so maybe worth a try? Good luck and get on all fours as much as you can!! X
  9. Hi all, Sal... 6 days of work for you now whoopie!! make the mot of your maternity leave and try and rest as much as you can! A huge congrats to Steph and Pippa. Well done! If anyone else is at Oakwood and had Jacqueline and Alissia.. I still haven't bought them anything to say thanks. Last time I bought some pampering products and a massive bundle of cakes to share in office and am happy to do the same this time but if anyone wants to club together to give them a more substantial pressie- a gift voucher or something then let me know. I'm booked back in to take toddler to Diddidance at 10am on Fridays.. Session will allow for me to sit back and feed. So if any mums of 2/3 fancy there's a free trial you can book and it's a good time to ebable coffee/toddlers lunch afterwards. Lovely seeing some of you on Monday.. Not a great time for us though as had to dash off for naps etc (including mine!!) I want to meet some more of these babies... We should arrange a regular meet up again. Ruth, good luck for Friday. X
  10. H]i Mouseysarah, I'll have my eldest this mon too.. Music session is more her so I can sit and feed newborn so come along if you can make it. Thank you Kim for heads up. I'll be heading to All Fired Up at 11am Looking forward to seeing some WBC then Anna x
  11. K4ti, With first baby, I'd read that after 4 weeks (I think) it's harder for some babies to accept bottle if exclusively breastfed before then so as soon as my milk supply has come in (day 3-4ish) I've expressed a bit extra after each feed to make up a bottle. Expressing will make you produce more milk so now (day 6) I can express a whole bottle in one go. Everyone is different though, your supply might be completely different with regards to introducing the bottle, with both babies, I've done it asap and it hasn't caused any 'nipple confusion' and the block of sleep I get as a result is amazing!! Did your midwife explain why she advises you to wait? The one thing I found about health visitors/midwives etc is that their advice is so contradictory and confusing!! You should probably see how breastfeeding goes for the first couple of days and then express once feeding is established and you're confident baby can latch on etc etc.
  12. Ok.. to make things easy... shall we say Monday at the Gardens 9:45am? If anyone without babies yet would like to meet for a coffee afterwards.. come and find us from 10:30am at the Gardens.. I'll be hanging around there to give Ava her lunch. Looking forward to catching up with the WBClubbers, it's been some time! Anna x
  13. oh and p.s. Ruth... the midwife i didn't want (you know who) is away until the 19th Jan so I knew I had to have baby before then... 10 days early and Olivia obeyed! Yes I had Jacqueline and Alessia and they were FANTASTIC! so calming and reassuring. I'm sure that's why it was only a 3 hour delivery! Good luck for yours and I hope you get Jacqueline too!!
  14. Hi all, Laura.. I really wouldn't worry about their sizing 'predictions'. They are nearly always wrong... Ava was considered long but small and she was 10lbs 3 and my friend was induced early as she had a '4kg' baby at 38 weeks only to give birth to a 3kg baby... I would deffo be up for a meet up next week... Olivia only 1 week old but very good. A little jaundice so have been trying to feed her round the clock during the day, which seems to help her sleep at night. Also I've been expressing a feed for my partner to give at the 11pm feed so I'm able to get a good sleep until she wakes again at about 3am. So I'd defiently advise that (partner willing!!) If anyone is around with toddlers and babies on Mon or Tues.. I'm thinking of checking out Tippie Toes. It's a drop in music class details below.. I'm thinking toddler can participate whilst I can feed little one?!?!? Let me know if anyone is up for it. Anna x Mondays: 9.45am - 10.30am The Gardens Cafe 184 Peckham Rye East Dulwich SE22 9QA Mondays: 11.00am - 11.45am All Fired Up (Ceramics Cafe) 34 East Dulwich Road London SE22 9AX Tuesdays: 10.00am - 10.45am All Fired Up (Ceramics Cafe) 34 East Dulwich Road London SE22 9AX
  15. Can't wait to watch 'one born'... Have watched it pre pregnancy... During pregnancy and post pregnancy and shed many tears!!! I reckon with the lack of sleep I've had I'll be bawling my eyes out. Yes great birthing experience... Hideous after birth... History of retained placenta reared it's ugly head!! Ambulance to King's and now trying desperately to discharge myself... Although it's very quiet here and staff have been AMAZING from top docs to porters, I feel so special and cared for. Everyone says 'congratulations' in corridors so nothing to fear!! Baby is a beaut and well worth the wait and the shenanagains now! Oblivious to it all!! Looking forward to catching up with everyone and their bundles very soon... When I'm watching One Born tonight with my roll of andrex, I'll be thinking of us all!! Oh god I think these drugs are strong!!! Sorry!! Anna
  16. Hi all, Well, one day back at work was clearly too much like hard work!! I popped into Neal's Yard remedies and bought some special concoction and some evening primrose drops and low and behold labour starts! Almost perfect birth story!! Anyway Baby Townsend is born, at home, weighing just under 9lbs which is great after a whopping 10lb3 first delivery. So whoopie, maternity leave starts NOW and our little girl is safely here!! Good luck to everyone else and I'll see you and babes soon Anna x x
  17. The 'researcher' who was supposed to link MMR and Autism has been struck off for his ridiculous report. What more can be done to prove there is no evidence to say the risks of having the MMR jab outweigh the potentially fatal risks of not having it?? A public shooting? A decrease in the MMR uptake WILL increase the spread of these highly infectious and dangerous diseases... Not once did I question protecting my children.
  18. That's great news Bee... Especially as it's another 2nd timer having a short labour!! Out of 6 birth stories from friends with 2nd deliveries this winter, the 4 who had babies at home were under 3 hour deliveries... Yay.. Here's hoping! And another girl!!! It's all been very quiet on here recently so I hope everyone is just consumed with the preparations for xmas and all is well with babies, bumps and mums. Have a lovely christmas to all new families and those who are enjoying this christmas before the craziness begins! Keep us posted of any news and CAN'T WAIT to meet babies in new year x x
  19. Hi all, Hannah, I'd love to come tomorrow if offer is still open... I feel in the need for some pampering!! P.M me details. But I totally understand if plans have changed now! Hope all's well.. Friday is my last day at work for the xmas break so will be around next week if people fancy coffee/playdates. Have a good week. Anna
  20. Hannah, I'd love to come along on Thurs... I have a really hectic week.. lots of evenings out for once so may have to confirm later, I know that's not ideal as you need to know asap.. and my eyebrows do need a good waxing... Will be in touch. Anna
  21. Brilliant news indeed!!! Emma I bet your darling daughter no 1 is loving her little sis! Looking forward to finding out the name soon too! A NCT friend gave birth on Sunday after only a 2 hour labour too... Unplanned home delivery in bath!! So roll on the swift labours!! Keep us posted of all baby news everyone!! Anna x
  22. Partner is not getting home tonight until 7 so see you shortly after x
  23. It is Dec Sara, we should have an advent countdown to due days too!! Seems like I've been pregnant FOREVER but actually impending due date seems to have come around suddenly! I thought I had everything sorted as having another girl... Then realised (after a conversation with another expectant mother) that I don't even have any nappies! She informed me that amazon sell packs of 108 for ?11 for pampers newborn!! So any other essentials I'm forgetting please remind me! See all who can make it for pizza and gossip tonight. Anna x
  24. Hi all RE: tomorrow wednesday.. Strike day wahoooo!! I'll be taking Ava to swings at peckham rye park from 10:00am ish and then head to the Gardens (electrical cafe) to give her lunch at about 11:00. All welcome to join me... With or without little ones in tow!! If not see those who can make it on Thurs pm. Anna x
  25. Hi all, Try www.firstaidforlife.org.uk for baby resus course. I did it first time with a group of us organising it to be held in The Rye Hotel Pub but they were happy to run from someone's home too. Caroline, that Hacknet Doula article was a good read.. I didn't take too much notice of the report but it's reassuring to hear the proper facts and figures in that article. I'm well up for a pamper evening HannahKT... keep us posted!! Wed meet up details to follow... otherwise see you Thurs pm.
