  1. https://www.trinco.restaurant/?utm_content=trinco-dulwich Trinco is on the Lordship Lane section between Goose Green roundabout and East Dulwich Grove turn off so the bottom of LL.
  2. Talk to Trinco. They might be able to accommodate all of those requirements and the food is very tasty.
  3. When I was incorrectly ticketed three times in the same place in one week, my first appeal was rejected on each ticket. It was only when I emailed Southwark to tell them I was taking them to tribunal and would they like to withdraw the PCNs before tribunal that they withdrew them. So I'm assuming they only get involved after the first appeal.
  4. I believe that of Ryedale, St Dunstans and St Aidan's Roads, Ryedale is actually the widest of the three roads so actually makes sense for more traffic to go up and down Ryedale. I think the scheme as proposed will cause worsening congestion and blockages in St Dunstans and St Aidan's but maybe this is just the beginning of a bigger plan to close all three roads and direct all traffic up and down Barry Road and Wood Vale or to introduce a one way system to St Dunstans and St Aidan's 🤔 You can comment on the Southwark website if you have a view https://engage.southwark.gov.uk/en-GB/projects/ryedale-traffic-scheme
  5. On the consultation there seems to be no consideration for St Aidan's road which could become an alternative cut through if Ryedale is blocked and is narrower than Ryedale. ☹️
  6. Complaint submitted. Your helpful link took me straight to the relevant page. 🙏
  7. It's my understanding that it's private delivery companies such as Evri that have the post office as a delivery point so you can't redirect those parcels to Peckham SO as that's only for Royal Mail but, yes, probably worth trying a different drop off point. As you say a lot of the queue is for people dropping off and picking up parcels to and from Evri and other companies, kind of like a private sorting office, and while there is clearly a huge demand for this service, the post office was never designed for the number of parcels it is now required to deal with resulting in long queues and lost or hard to find parcels. This messes up the efficient provision of other core PO services including cash/bank services now there are no banks in ED. I think this one office is being required to do too much for its size.
  8. But isn't it the case that the Townley road restriction is not a school gate so that restriction is active all the time as far as I understand.
  9. The Cheese Block on Lordship Lane. Great variety of delicious cheeses at varied prices.
  10. A Southwark resident in a car can go with bags of rubble but a builders van usually needs to pay so your choice.
  11. The owner of the building? 🤷
  12. Malumbu just checking if you have red green colour blindness? And I'm not being rude or facetious. Because he is actually wearing a bright red T shirt and a patterned very visible helmet 👍
  13. It's a Guiana Chestnut/peanut (aka Money tree, Pachira glabra, Pachira aquatica. It's not happy ☹️
  14. What would be a really good idea is to have a sort of office with enough space to accept and sort parcels of the sort of volume required by new shopping practices 🤔 Oops! Forgot! We did have one in Sylvester road but Royal Mail shut it down and sold off the site. Doh!!! Would have been so useful to have now. At least the Lordship Lane Post Office is staying open for the moment. Phew! 🤞
  15. Does anyone insist that hi Viz is the answer? I think most people think lo Viz is just a bad idea if you are trying to look after your own safety. In the end you will never know how many people avoided death or injury by being more visible because you can't measure an incident that didn't happen. But some things just make sense like being careful, and visible however you are traveling and not using a mobile phone when driving (and also when cycling and crossing the road). And I'm glad you managed to avoid being hit by someone who was obviously driving dangerously and illegally.
  16. At the risk of starting another argument ☹️ here's an interesting summary of some of the last year's transport factors in London by Jim Waterson of London Centric. https://open.substack.com/pub/londoncentric/p/tfl-london-transport-trends-buses-slower-lime-bikes-driving?utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=email

  17. When did dogs start needing clothes? 🤷
  18. There was investment in planting Plane trees in the last 25 years and in new paving in the sections shown in the photos but unfortunately the trees are growing so fast that they're damaging the pavements and the way the paving was laid makes water collect rather than drain away. It's such a disappointing shame and sadly it's getting worse as the trees grow bigger and bigger 😔.
  19. Perhaps you could raise the massive puddles in the pavement on the east side from Hansler Road to Whateley Road as I have found Highways have not acted at all in resolving these.
  20. And if they don't have their lights on at night they can be difficult to see too. Yes, if we're driving, cycling, walking we're all wise to see and be seen but if a person on a bike or in a car is all in black with no lights then they are difficult to see and once you've been hit and wiped out by whatever moving object it's too late to say it was someone else's responsibility to see me. But in the end it's up to the person in black with no lights how visible or not they wish to be.
  21. There does seem to be increasing use of an unofficial cycling get up which is black trousers, black jacket, black headgear (not usually a helmet) which makes cyclists and electric motorised cycle riders effectively invisible at night. For example, a number of cycling delivery drivers seem to choose this get up. It is their choice but it's a risky choice and a difficult one for a rational person to understand.
  22. Not sure advocating decapitation for an irritating to some TV presenter, counts as a bit of light relief. Pretty distasteful really ☹️
  23. I believe those particular shop frontages belong to the freeholders rather than to the council and that the council's bit of the pavement is the narrow uneven bit with the massive trees planted in it.
  24. Who would be inconvenienced by such an adjustment to the route?
  25. Perfectly placed for a phone thief on a bike 😱
