  2. Another big thumbs up for Will from me. I've had bass lessons with Will over the past year after a 30 year break, and they've been great. He approached our lessons from a songwriting perspective, which was perfect for my needs. I played bass in a band for a few years in the 1990s but never really knew what I was doing. A year with Will has given me a far better understanding of music theory and how bass relates to other instruments in a band. Thank you Will!
  3. Another recommendation for Aria. He replaced a kitchen tap for us today. His communication was great, he arrived when he said he would, he sorted out challenges along the way, and his rates were very reasonable. Thank you Aria!
  4. I've picked the bass guitar back up after 20-odd years (must be a midlife crisis) and I'm building up the courage to play with other musicians. I'm keen to meet up with other local musicians (guitar, drums, keyboard, etc) for fun / no pressure jamming sessions. Please give me a shout if you are interested.
  5. Another glowing recomendation for Aria from me. His communication was excellent, he arrived when he said he would, he suggested a range of solutions (depending on our appetite for disruption and/or budget) and fixed the immediate problem. I will deifnitley use him again.
  6. We had a great slime party at Captured on the Rye on Pellatt Road. Well, it was actually a bath bomb, slime and science party. We were there for 2 hours and Lou (who has posted one of the messages on this thread) helped ten kids to make colourful bath bombs, fluffy slime and fizz poppers. He also created a really cool painting-type-thing out of milk and coloured ink - see link below: https://www.facebook.com/CapturedOnTheRye/videos/524641048019314/?t=0 I'd definitely recommend them.
  7. Yes, the SNT have got back to me now. They said that they are 'monitoring the situation and doing extra patrols in the area'. They won't do anything more if they don't receive any other contact.
  8. I reported my experience to the Safer Neighbourhoods Team last week (Weds I think) but haven't heard anything back.
  9. I think that I might have just experienced the same person. I was walking my daughter along the pavement on Goodrich Road (towards the junction of Friern Road) when I heard behind me a car revving really high and clearly going ridiculously fast for such a short/built up section of road. I couldn?t see what was coming towards us due to parked cars but I could tell that whoever it was was going really fast (so fast that I felt the need to protect my daughter). He came into sight and screeched to a stop at the junction, he then gave me a glare out of his open window and screeched off. His behaviour was antisocial at best. At worst, he put the safety of pedestrians seriously at risk. I would have ignored it had I not seen this tread earlier today. I can?t say that it is definitely the same person car. I did not see an orange badge. However, I noted the make and model of the car and I also have his registration number. I wouldn?t normally contact the police about such incidents but I feel that the similarities are too great for me to ignore.
