  1. Afternoon, Smoeone pulled out our bin yesterday afternoon and did a big poo right by our bins. I don't think we have any sworn enemies! Someone on another forum said she's seen similar posts on here but I can't find them. Any idea who this is and how to stop them doing it again? Not only is it revolting but I have two 15-month-olds and is obviously a health risk. In the meantime I'll be looking into security cameras I think!
  2. I?d just like to add a voice of thanks to you James. This is the only place I?ve ever lived with such a visible, active councillor. What a great shame. Enjoy that holiday!
  3. Somewhere between the picture gallery and The PictureHouse. My son was quite fond of it...
  4. Yes- and I cant recommend them enough!
  5. Does anyone know anything about Butterfly Lane nursery opening in september on Bassano street? Saw a sign on the church today...
  6. Our cat is a greedy puss and frequently taps the neighbours up for snacks. I've been and spoken to those that we know. Most have been very obliging once I explain the health issues and that as a last report we will have to keep her inside if she doesn't loose weight. I also made little "beware thief" & mugshot posters and put them through a few doors saying she would steal food so watch out, and included our number in case she was a pest. A few of our other neighbours have responded to this and she finally seems to be slimming down...
  7. Thanks String Vest. She was on some very nice Lily's kitchen food before and still went thieving/begging! She's heading for obesity-related health problems, so looking for things to try as she's our responsibility after all. We adopted her from Battersea cats and dogs home when she was three and apparently the previous owner gave her up as he couldn't afford to feed her & wasn't able to let her out, which was causing her distress. So it may be she's been very hungry in her previous home and its ingrained behaviour to scavenge because of this. I don't know how we help her feel more secure. We've tried free feeding (with the Lilys) during the day, giving her her portions in two meals, giving her 3 and 4 meals, but no amount/pattern seems to fill her up! I am very glad our neighbours are so nice to her, I just want to take as good care of her as we can. I'm at home most days but I think if someone on the street starts cooking she dumps me and heads for their kitchen! I dont want to lock her in because of comments from previous owner, but may have to think about limiting outdoor time. Glad your cats are so contented tho.
  8. The tracker is a great idea! and maybe I'll try locking her in when others are likely to be feeding their cats - I'll be at home more soon to be able to manage that. Thanks everyone!
  9. Thanks Saffron. We had her on Lily's kitchen wet food (which I think has a high meat content in comparison with others?)- but she ballooned! She's now on a Royal Canin Obesity diet recommended by the vet (wet/dry combo?) I'll look into the ingredients. Any good ones you know of? I've just put flyers through the doors of some of the neighbours we don't know further down the street, and in the next street- so as you say if she has a bigger range than we realise maybe that will help! I imagine she is stealing other pets food and, if it comes to it, we may have to keep her more. Which makes me feel sad as we adopted her from Battersea on the promise she could get out. But this can't carry on!
  10. Thanks Rendel. Sadly she already has one! (in case anyone else is interested/needs one: http://www.kittycollars.co.uk/personalised-cat-collars/)
  11. Has anyone had any success getting neighbours to stop feeding their cat?? She put on a lot of weight and has been on a veterinary diet for nearly a year, but is still not down to the right size. We've asked the neighbours we know about to stop but I think she must still be getting food from somewhere! She is very charming and also a thief, so it could be anywhere. We're worried about her health and it's also costing us a small fortune in food and vet visits (not to mention the lovely cleanup job in the garden when she has a bad tummy!) Any good ideas/success stories?? Its lovely that our neighbours like her but I'm worried about the long term risk to our little fur ball...
  12. I went to find it in November and it was nowhere to be seen...
  13. I went the other day to find the WEEE in Peckham Rye but it was no longer in the car park- where did you find it???
  14. Hi there- i emailed them and they just sent all the info across as an attachment, including fees. They were very quick to get back to me- I think I was speaking to LEYFs head office- someone called Lily. She was very helpful.
  15. I emailed them and they sent me a schedule of fees. Speak to Lily in head office.
  16. Does anyone know where this has gone to? I drove down to Strakers Road this morning (having checked the Southwark website first) but there were just empty cages. Any idea where this has gone? The website also says there's one in the Dog Kennel Hill Sainsbury's, but I can't think where it is (It's not with the other recycling points there- I also checked there this morning!)
  17. Lee is a fantastic trainer. He knows his stuff, keeps it fun and interesting and is positive and supportive in his approach. I really enjoyed every session and was the fittest I've ever been (although the Tabata nearly killed me!) I trained with Lee for about 6 months and would recommend him to anyone looking for a PT, especially if you appreciate encouragement and support while being pushed. Danielle

  19. Another recommendation for Saied. We had an unkempt lawn with big areas of moss and weeds, a neglected area of gravel and brick and a lot of builders rubbish that had been left at the bottom of the garden by the previous owners. He was a professional from consultation to completion. He helped us work out what to do make the garden presentable and manageable. He advised us on what material he'd recommend, ordered them all, was punctual, clear, kept us informed, tidied up after the work every day and even made friends with our fussy cat! Our garden now looks lovely and it was an absolute pleasure having Saied around for 5 days. We would highly recommend him. He's even offered to water the new lawn if there are days we can't manage it- he's truly committed to his work.
  20. Sue- I dons know if the RSPCA turned up. The vet we rang advised us to call them but on my way to work I also messaged SNARL who were able to get down there quickly and gave me an update. So I'm afraid I dont know if the RSPCA made it- no reason to think ill of them from my post.
  21. I'm sorry - I have a full time job- which I was already late for - and no box for the cat. I was just trying to do a nice thing by putting a post on here. Thanks for your nasty comments calling me an idiot and uncaring. Its really hurtful. I alerted the RSPCA, SNARL and a local guy working nearby. I did the best I could in the circumstances.
  22. Hi Marc, I'm sorry to hear this- you must be worried sick. The cat in question was definitely a grown adult we think. weve both looked at the photos and don't think this was her. SNARL went down in the end to see what was what but didn't find the cat. I'm hoping it managed to hobble home...
