  1. Really sorry to hear this. There are a lot of his programmes still on the BBC Sounds App. Bob Harris took over Johnnie’s Sounds of the 70s programme at the end of October because Johnnie had pulmonary fibrosis which is a fairly unknown lung disease and he had got to the point that broadcasting was too difficult for him. Johnnie and his wife supported the charity Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis and helped to raise awareness. Please consider donating to them. They are on Instagram.
  2. De in Peckham (used to be Cutthroat) are good. They have a children’s rate. 0207732 2229. They are in Choumert Road.
  3. I enquired about making a booking and Rye Cars told me they require cash payments, no Apple Pay. Sounds odd to me.
  4. When was the last time you used them? I called them and they have a minimum charge now. It’s clear they prefer airport runs only. Thanks to those who recommended Rye Cars.
  5. Does anyone have any recommendations. Thanks.
  6. That’s not fair. I’d appeal if I got a ticket based on a too small sign and especially if it replaced a previous larger one.
  7. I hope Southwark News could promote this fund raiser, as well as other media. Thank you for setting it up.
  8. Thanks for posting. I guess if you’re a criminal, then a van like that is asking to be followed.
  9. Does anyone know what kind of van the Amazon delivery drivers use or are they all different? I’m quite sure the Royal Mail use red marked vans. Also, Evri/DPD?
  10. Call the bank and tell them, don’t post on here. They will call the cardholder.
  11. Is it still a dry cleaner?
  12. The solution for the cost of duvet washing is for each person to have their own single duvet like in Scandinavia. Then you can wash the duvet in your own washing machine. Get a heated drying rack if you don’t have a tumble dryer.
  13. Thanks for flagging this up.
  14. Hell. Does this mean that it’s available as a franchise? People do their banking in there now.
  15. That’s great news.
  16. It’s a shame that the Aldi in Old Kent Road disappeared a few years ago. I thought it was supposed to be rebuilt alongside some new flats.
  17. Did the lease mention anything about mandatory floor coverings? Lots of flat leases do mention that, but it doesn’t stop people removing carpets in order to have bare floorboards. I’m mainly referring here to Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian properties.
  18. As a concerned neighbour, you could ask the police to do a welfare check. You would need the address.
  19. Where was this? You could contact the relevant Environmental Health Department to let them know.
