Hello, we are a fun loving, active family of 4 who have had the most wonderful au pair experience. She leaves us to return to France at the end of May. We would love to find another au pair, however we are also open to finding someone who can help min 3 days a week after school and ideally a couple of mornings 7-9 for school run etc. This may suit a local student? We are in East Dulwich and our children are at school locally (10 minute walk away) Please get in touch if you can help! 07824098722 thank you!

Little one lost her glasses this afternoon on lordship lane / Melbourne Grove / blackwater street between 3:15-4:15. They are neon green yellow in a flower shape and had a lanyard attached. No monetary value but she?s v upset so if anyone has spotted them around you?d make this 3yo v happy if we could get them back! 07824098722.

Anyone else as devastated as us? Great coffee, brunch, pasta and super welcoming for families - ideal given their location next to the playground. We come in several times a week and will be so sad to see it go. Surely not just us?

Afternoon all, We had our kitchen side return done a few years ago. We are west facing with quite a bit of glass and we are finding it very hot in the summer, particularly this year though I hate complaining about the glorious weather! We are now looking into blinds / window tints / any other solition to deflect the sun from the glass. Has anyone else on here had a similar issue and found a solution? Many thanks in advance!

Huge recommendation for Louisa at goose green. I had severe pgp with my first pregnancy and couldn?t walk by 30 weeks. Second pregnancy I saw her every couple of weeks from 6 weeks and I was a different person. It was incredible. I was in way better shape that I was during pregnancy 1 or post Nat ally after baby 1. She?s really knowledgeable and has a knack for figuring out where any stresses lie. I felt immediately better after each session and had the Condition well under control. Honestly it was life changing.

Antenatal classes: NCT, The Group or other?
MellowYellow replied to AnnaSimmonds's topic in The Family Room Discussion
If it helps we did NCT nad hypnobirthing first time round. Found NCT a waste of time. It?s ok if you have a group you he?ll with otherwise it?s all pregnancy based and not all that different to what a google will tell you. Hypnobirthing was amazing birth prep. For the social side of things, pregnancy yoga was amazing. Met some wonderful ladies and their partners who have become great friends and allies in the parenthood journey. -
We?ve just been offered a place which is great. We last visited nearly 2 years ago though so wondered if anyone had more recent experience of it. In particular what the environment is like with the little ones - playfocuused or more educational? It seems very well run. Thanks in advance

I?m relieved to read that others who have experienced just 2 hour restrictions have found its worked as I was worried it wouldn?t. I?m also a St francis Road resident and am utterly relieved that we will finally have a CPZ. I am fed up of never being able to park on my road, ferrying small children and shopping from a distance so that commuters and those getting to the hospital can park free of charge all day long. The dominoes drivers are another issue on our road. Whether that will solve this or not I don?t know....wait and see!

Skip hop brand - grey with a white chevron print, folds and clasps closed, opens up to store nappies/ wipes and fold out changing mat. Grab handle and clasp to attach to peak. Last had it for sure Friday Dec 1st on a bus from the plough to east Dulwich station (can?t remember if it was 40/185/176 - may have dropped off then or as I got off. Massively inconvenient to have lost so hoping it?s been found and this message is seen! Pls contact 07824098722 or themorgannons@gmail.co.uk

Hello! Does anyone have experience of using The Hypnobirthing Place? We are due to be parents for the second time and had a positive experience first time round which we credit to Hypnobirthing. Our original teacher is unavailable though. Thoughts welcomed. Thanks in advance x

Spring baby group 2018 (due March, April, May)
MellowYellow replied to lucy_lastics's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hello all, also interested in this group! Have just found out our second is due first week of May. Are most people in the Spring Babies group second timers? I don?t really use Facebook though(!) would anyone be up for a WhatsApp group? X -
We live near DHFC and absolutely don't mind the football noise and we support the club. Over the past year we've been aware of some really late parties with (an amazing!) sound system that has music blaring with a roaring bass we can feel in the house. We've had to call Southwark Noise on a couple of occasions when it's been insanely loud / late but on numerous occasions it wasn't clear where the noise was coming from and by the time they actually attended it was winding down. Don't begrudge people having a party and accept that some noise will carry but the sound systems being used are wholly antisocial. Found out tonight that the venue are hiring the pitch for people to use a marquee and sound system. AIBU or should this be monitored by the club? Has anyone else noticed or been suffering this?

LOST - umbrella blue leopard print Oliver bonas
MellowYellow posted a topic in Lost, Found or Stolen
My umbrella fell out of my buggy earlier this week as I ran errands from east dulwich station up lordship lane. It's a distinctive blue/ grey leopard print from Oliver bones. Folds down small - missing the case which I have here. Would be ever so grateful for its return! Please PM or call / text 07824098722 Thank you x -
Morning - any recommendations of where to get name labels for kids clothing? Ideally iron on unless they don't stay stuck. Many thanks in advance

Bugaboo Bee Plus won't fold - any ideas?
MellowYellow replied to Lula's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Not loads to add here but found this thread helpful as the same just happened to us. We've sent it to Buggy Pit Stop - ?60 for parts, ?30 for the repair work plus VAT. Will let you know how it ends up -
Can anyone recommend an employment lawyer please? I'm returning after mat leave and I'm being offered variation of contract terms, being messed around with time scales and I've had all of my flexible working request rejected on every ground...I'm now off on sick leave worrying about how I'm going to get it sorted. Many thanks in advance

Yesterday at lunchtime, a man attempted to break into a house on St Francis Road via the back garden and back door whilst the residents were home. Police have attended etc. Just a note to remind people to be vigilant particularly amidst the hot weather when Windows and back doors are often opened for a breeze.

To all who previous helped with tips and advice thank you - we are pretty much decided on this travel system. However, we have a narrow point in our hallway as it goes round the stairs and having measured and measured, it's either going to fit (just) or sadly miss in which case we will go with a different buggy. Would anyone who has the 2015 Cruz, allow us to borrow it for 5 minutes to test drive it into the hall (we are right by ED station)?! We would really really appreciate it and a bottle of wine (or box of chocolates if you prefer) would be yours as a thank you! Many thanks in advance!

Thanks etta166 I saw this and the Which? report which mentioned the same thing. I flagged these up with my midwife yesterday and apparently the stats for their unit (Kings) is much better than those nationally which is probably to be expected. She is going to bring them to our next appointment for me :)

Thanks All, apologies first of all as I didn't get any notification that anyone had replied! My main fear is feeling out of control followed by forceps...probably irrational. Your experiences locally are really helpful as I keep hearing positive things and about how safe it is and you've confirmed what I was hoping for. I have done some hypnobirthing and being from a sciency family really buy into the rationale behind the advice which I think may well prove essential in a home birth as you have to be able to relax! A big thing for me is not waiting on / relying on hospital staff for a drink / to queue for the loo etc etc if you're at home you can be in your own little safe bubble (with support) Thanks again x
