  1. Think Ruskin Park Orchard folk might be interested. Sure there was slink here somewhere - try Herne Hill Forum
  2. Call London Animal Hospital
  3. My last one had cancer and the insurance company on,ya paid half of the bill which was an eye watering ?13.500. Cheap does not equate to comprehensive..!! I currently have an insurance policy which limits me to ?7,000 and is draw down. Spoke to Petplan but am put off by a call centre in India and fact that hours later have received nothing from them however their lifetime cover which was ?12,00 I think was good but don't think I can change from them. Any advice greatly appreciated as I said, having a nightmare time with current internet provider and keeps on dropping out. Thank you in advance.
  4. I am thinking about leaving my vet and was wondering if anyone had recommendations - does not have to be in ED - within smile or so is fine. Anyone got anything to say about London Animal Hospital? Thanks.
  5. Well I am now out of catchment area but, my surgery still keeping me on - nothing to do about years I have been there but anyone so I am told can move GP practice. Just won't do home visits. Would not leave mine as can always get an apt and if you ate elderly or have young people , can be seen on day! Totally different from horror stories I hear.
  6. New Forest without doubt - beautiful and if you drive, now far from water. Stay in Lyndhurst or further in. Highly recommend it but you would need a care although they do have buses quite frequently. Go onto their web site and you will find all information you need. Boulder wood to see the deer and plenty of walking. Ponies are free roaming as are the odd pig. Plenty of good B and B. Go to Bucklers Hard and take the boat round the lake. Think it is ?3.00 per person and gives you another perspective.
  7. Would try the Rosendale Pub - have rooms upstairs and a garden/ patio downstairs. You can bring your own music as well. The other idea might be to hire a child minder/ nanny for a day or half a day that way everyone has fun! The Cambria Pub also have rooms upstairs to hire - from memory think they have a outside area or how about Clockhouse on Barry RoD ? Then u have Peckham Rye Park opposite.
  8. Not as successful as Herne Hill Market - glad to hear about expansion though as neRer than HH. My questions are the same as Sue?
  9. This is getting abit out of hand.! I know of him if it is the same person and from what has been said, pretty sure it is.He is harmless and doesn't mean to offend - he does need strong guidelines/ boundaries and is fine. He isn't aggressive in any way and in fact is a talented pianist. Can't offer any more assistance as I have no idea where he lives - somewhere off Lordship Lane.
  10. If I was a swimmer which I am not, would swim at Brockwell Lido - lovely setting and outside pool.
  11. Thought I had seen everything along Barry Road, but early last night was truely staggered to see two young youths on bikes doing what I think is called wheelies along a section of the road and then going straight at cars on wrong side of road causing drivers to veer, a few seconds later red car sped down the road and youths on bikes peddled furiously to follow. Bad enough during the day trying to get out of driveway.
  12. Thank you, Sue Yes, I am a real person but I do not have the time in my day, for all of this... Why don't you as Admin, put a stop to all of this? Why don't you, as forum ask Admin for an animal section? Surely, you must have better things to do with your lives, or maybe not. Admin, point has been made do, like, I said, personally please de lets, but up to you!,
  13. Several people on this forum have met me recently... I get very tired and to be frank find the type face tiny.. I am a real person and ask or puck up things from people who wish to give for a deserving cause.. I volunteer in a number of places and as I do various projects, am grateful for stuff that I can personally afford or is given free. Hope this clears it all up. Yes, I have a new puppy and would have thought from the dribble that others write here, that abit of support albeit, has 4 legs as opposed to two, would have been appreciated. Would never let my puppy be walked and cared for by anyone without a DBS check and PB liability as a minimum Hope this clears it up for everyone. If Admin wants to ban me, so be it.
  14. Sadly, as I was walking pooch along Barry a Road, clearly baby fell out, as in birds.. Not good with "feathers".. Gave suet balls last winter, nothing.. Going to either buy new feeder as in squirrel proof or start all over again.. Disinfect all Got bird food..,, So disappointed.. Any tips?
  15. All the best - have never met you but truely wish there were more of you about. Have a good drummer - you deserve it and enjoy.
  16. Being a driver who use to go above the speed level but no longer, the ones that flash up in my humble opinion do draw your attention to the fact that you are speeding or over the limit.Certainly the ones in RosendakexRoad and also road along Crystal Palace Park, I have noticed a reduction in speeding but that is only my humble opinion. Dare say, others here will have different ideas and opinions.
  17. Have you spoken to the folk who runHerne Hill one? Might be useful for you or you might be part of them starting in a new location
  18. Now we have a white van that has lost abit of its side with a flat tyre parked opposite the Elms in Barry Road that has been there for over 24 hours nd will no doubt either be dumped there or what? One would assume man whose name is on piece of paper on front might wantvitvforcwork but clearly not. Cars racing up road last night - circa 10 ish....
  19. Ruskin Park Trapeeze? Football in various parks. Try families south east - not sure if they have activities just on Sat but you could look. Libraries do stuff for free as well. Someone was thinking about setting up arts and craft but you will have to search. Hornimen have activities as does Dulwich Picture Gallery
  20. Sure B & Q would sell them -Lidls, haven't been but thank you for the tip - I too suffer, cold tea bags are a temp measure as are eye drops. Not sure if the shop that sells virtually everything, near Picture House might sell some.
  21. As do I, as far as 20 mph goes.. Thought, stupidly after yesterday's incident, traffic might just might slow down.. And they did, but guess what, back to racing track.. Like I said in a previous thread, just time, before there is a major incident.. And where or where are these newly elected councillors? Surely they must have got their surgeries sorted by now? Think they were even "brave" enough to introduce themselves and what.. Silence... Time, "We" as EDF, do something.. Like as Pugwash said traffic speeding exercise at all hours of the day - not just at peak times - not suggesting every hour - we all have phones with cameras and since there seems to be nothing forthcoming from newly elected councillors, council strapped for cash, why don't we all just snap..? No money involved.. Not sure where to go from here, but very sure all ED F folk will have ideas..
  22. Certainly agree and as I have said more than happy to sign a petition. As I think all who have posted on this thread..... Now it has happened. Interestingly, just come back home and due to presence of police car with lights. Drivers are definitely slowing down. It also occurred to me yesterday evening when I was driving along Barry Road that even reprinting 20 mile signs on road would at least make drivers more aware. Still think and don't know how expensive it would be but to clock cars driving faster than 20 mph would be good - there are a lot of schools near the road and whilst parents, cares, nanny's etc keep the kids under control they often have a couple riding ahead and with best will in the world, kids beingvkidsxmightbnot stop at junction and if more than one no way can adults have eyes everywhere. We have already had on this post, mention of a kid who survived been thrown in the air.
  23. After the nightmare that has happened in Dulwich Village over the last few months for a few yards of cycle lanes and no sooner had the junction box been painted on the ground, council realised a big mistake after spending a morning there - several of them. The box mysteriously disappeared. Surely, if they can afford to spend so much money on that which I thought was to extend to Court Lane as well, then they could have a consultation - unless a campaign gets underway with local support, frankly nothing will happen, until an accident happens and as this neighbourhood is so "child friendly" imagine the consequences..... Rant over.
