Good morning. I am just "putting this out there" and will not comment further. I caught the train last night and was mildy irritated when the young woman next to me began a loud conversation on her mobile; but no big deal, c'est la vie. The carriage was full so I couldn't easily move away. I tried to "tune her out" but couldn't concentrate properly on my paper because of her noise. Even trying not to listen I heard:- What stop she gets off the train (well before she gets off) What she is doing today and who her meeting is with today and what the meeting is about Her age The names of three of her friends Her route home from the station That she has a rape alarm, and where she keeps it. That she thinks she has been followed on her way home, several times. Less tired, today, I wonder whether I should have said something to her. Anyway, that's it-have a nice day all.

Aggressive "knocker" Crystal Palace Road/Actress area
Jimmy Mac replied to Jimmy Mac's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Yes he was a young man and I think he was flogging tea towels etc. SNT phoned me a couple of hours ago; apparently there is a "fake" organisation going around our area. SNT told me to phone 999 next time. Cheers -

Hello. I am not a fan of Camberwell Road/Walworth Road, so I go "round the back" to get to Elephant - Adys Road - Maxted Road - Bellenden Road - Lyndhurst Way - Peckham Road - Southampton Way - Wells Way - Albany Road - Thurlow Street (turns into Flint/Rodney/Heygate Street) to end of Walworth Road just past the Shell garage (not as convoluted as it looks, honest). Then you are at Elephant and I would go Newington Causeway - Borough High Street - London Bridge and up from there (I don't do this part of the route as I head off elsewhere...I think there have been roadworks by Borough tube). Good luck!JM

(motorcycle cover) theft in East Dulwich
Jimmy Mac replied to chillychap's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Would recommend you get a disc lock. I have an Oxford disc lock and it comes with (I expect most of them do) a luminous telephone-wire type cord that you loop from the lock over your handlebar to remind you that the lock is on. At worst the disc lock means kids can't easily wheel your scooter round a corner out of sight then attack it (yes I am talking from experience sadly!). Depending on what type of ground you are fixing an anchor to, you might have to cement it in. I have a wall anchor and had to buy a heavy duty drill bit to fix it to the wall, but it was pretty straightforward. Good luck!JM -
SMBS had some on Saturday (back of shop). Good luck! JM

Broadband performance in SE22 9EL
Jimmy Mac replied to KidKruger's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hello, Live in SE22 9EL (great neighbourhood) but have very limited technical skills. We are with BT, on the medium package and have no complaints re speed. The EDF, YouTube, Facebook, Itunes and online shopping all work very well. If checking the speed is easy, and you can tell me how to do it, I'll try to check. Cheers Mrs JM -
Why can't I get online quotes for House Insurance in ED
Jimmy Mac replied to Curmudgeon's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
they think your house will suffer subsidence. You need to speak to a proper broker not an online bucket shop. a broker will make calls and have industry knowledge. we used premier search - tesco, halifax, etc all refused cover. you need a proper expert not a call centre employee who can only go by your postcode. ps I am mrs jm, and sadly household insurance falls into my portfolio of tasks for the mac family.
