  1. Sounds just like the guy who rode past me and my other half the other day and shouted "get out the road you fat fucker" at the other half........at least I think it was to the other half!? If it was at me I am mortified as I gave up the fags about 8 months ago and have been feeling a touch weightier recently.....hmmmmmm???.....anyhooo,who is this pesky nuisance??
  2. Keep drawing that breath Salsaboy.....thanks for the offer but no thanks seeing as you don't even know what the items are.
  3. Hello fellow E.D Forumites. We are currently getting ready to move house and have stumbled across some loft finds that we want to sell. We think we can get a good price for them but dont know who to go to and need to get rid of them asap rather than taking them with us to the new home. We believe the items might be art deco but as i said we are a bit clueless who to go to. Please help! Many thanks Ron&Tom
  4. This is horrific. I am so sorry to hear the outcome for poor litte Morph and your loss Dara and Fuzzyboots. Can I just get this clear that nothing can be done about these dogs and their owner until a human is attacked, is that right??
  5. I hope you are bouncing back and fighting fit. So nice to read a positve post about the caring ED community.
  6. Thank you for your help Sweetgirl.
  7. Do you know of a number to call?? I phoned East Dul police station and left a message just in case anyone reported missing keys.
  8. I have just got on a No 40 bus from East Dulwich and found a set of keys and a memory stick attatched to the keyring. I will drop them into the Police station in East Dulwich tomorrow morning as I was on my way to work and don't have time tonight.
  9. Hi Lynsabell, i am so sorry to hear of your distress with regards to your experience of dogs in Peckham Park. 6 months ago we bought a 3 month old (VERY excitable) Parsons Russel Terrier who absolutely adores people and no matter what we do when he is off the lead, once he has his sights set on someone he is off bounding and leaping like an idiot at them! We have become very vigilant with regards to his excitable temperament and keep a very keen eye out for non dog owners/picnickers/children in our park and as soon as we spot his keen interest in innocent parties put him on the lead (that is if we can get to him in time!!). Although there are some bad owners/walkers out there i can honestly say that the mojority of people walking dogs are very responsible. The growing trend that i seem to be coming in constant contact with is general public who think it's acceptable to bother our dog whether it be children barking and screaming at him/throwing his ball into a group of people having a picnic (which one woman has done twice)/going to pick him up and pet him and generally encourage him, thinking its acceptable behaviour because he is a puppy. We always walk him around the edge of Dulwich park which is a dog excercise area to keep him out of the way of distraction but have come to realise that 'dog excercise area' now means cross country bike/jogging/dog walking area and have come across a hanful of nasty people who swear at you for sticking to the designated area and getting in their way. The point i am trying to make is that your incident is very unfortunate, but some of us are trying to be responsible owners and sometimes have to go way out of our way as not to upset or cause distress to members of the public who just want to enjoy our lovely parks. I always try to keep my puppy under control and will ALWAYS apologise to anyone he approaches without them having any interest in him. I hope you said something to the owner of the bounding dog and hope you find your space to relax in without being pestered in the future. Ron of Ron&Tom
  10. r there buses still running from town to ED??
  11. Excuse me for chipping in, but i found a wallet a couple of months ago on the no 40 bus (dilema). After many debates i handed it into the police exactly how it was, tried to contact the person on facebook (success....he replied) and i believe the owner and wallet are happily united now. Do with it what you hope someone would do if it was your money they had found.......which charity would you give it to if you did?? p.s sorry for being nosey.
  12. I was just wondering if anyone had eaten at Hisar on Lordship Lane? Recently become quite partial to Turkish cuisine after going on holiday there and attempting a few dishes myself. I would like to try it out this Sunday. Your views please. Cheers.
  13. Having started this thread a week ago, it's been very interseting reading the added comments. I would like to emphasis our argument wasn't against the staff, we understand when constantly faced with disgruntled customers they too will get a little miffed. The atmosphere, selection of beverages and entertainment (performers & quizes) have always been to a great standard. But in such an envoiroment, when with a group of friends you don't want to be faced with the disappointment of not being able to order food as a group, I've always enjoyed the food when we've got it. C'mon Plough!!! Maybe not such a fancy menu might ease the strain!
  14. Has anybody been to the Plough lately and experienced the poor quality they have to offer? As a regular customer we have often chosen the Plough as a meeting place for friends to gather for a sociable afternoon. The last couple of times we've been we've noticed the standards slip. This reached a point yesterday. We arrived at about 3.30 and from previous experiences asked the bar staff if they had plenty of food from the menu in stock. We were told they had. When we came to order our food a an hour and a half later only half our group could place their orders before being told the kitchen would close as they had run out of roast, belly pork and fish & chips. The bar staff have become very slow and quite unhelpful, but I would like to say the duty manager Claire was brilliant. I apperciate the Plough gets very busy on a Sunday but this has become a bit of a regular thing. If you want to offer a menu till 9.30 you should have the necessary items to do so. We've always enjoyed the Plough as our meeting place but were very very disappointed with our visit yesterday. I hope it gets sorted.
  15. Could you tell us of future showings as think it's a great idea but can't make the 25th.
