  1. FYI Today in Peckham Rye Park a couple of mopeds sped into the park past the skate park and then onto the lake area, they drove up and down a few times, unfortunately we missed the number plates but I did report to the police. Looked like a couple of youths, they had they're faces covered with balaclavas, as you can imagine the park was full of little ones, luckily no one was on the path! Felt like the aim was to intimidate. Obviously extremely dangerous please report if you see anything suspicious.

  6. CCTV showed that a friend of a friend left The Bishop at around 1.50am, turns out he was so drunk he just picked up the coat next to him for some reason unknown to him! Unfortunately he was also so drunk that he didn't make his way straight home and randomly ended up in camberwell. So somewhere between ED and camberwell is my coat! If anyone finds a whistles coat its mine, probably long gone? I've checked the local kebab and taxi firm, no luck! Glad I found out who picked it up though, still hope to be reunited :(
  7. I agree Minder Topshop seem to have increased their prices! I'm a less is more girl so I tend to maybe buy a more expensive one and look after it, like my whistles one :( I know its only a coat but it was probably worth more than the average handbag, well mine anyway! The CCTV is going to make embarrassing viewing! With 2 young kids I don't get out much. Definitely going to keep an eye on eBay etc.. Thanks
  8. Right so I know this is a long shot but I was out on Saturday evening celebrating a friends birthday, we were sitting in the alcove by the front window all night (one to the left as you walk in the door), a few of our coats were grouped together on the seating benches close to the door. When I came to leave my coat was missing, I had just popped outside for 15 mins with a friend for a cigarette, my coat was still there at this point, this was around closing time. If it was just my cheap Topshop coat I probably wouldn't be posting this. Please be vigilant I suppose after a few drinks we all let our guard down but it's not pleasant having the things we work so hard for taken. WHISTLES Animal print coat (brown & black leopard print), yes it's expensive and I probably shouldn't have worn it to the pub but its not about the money it's my favourite coat that I saved up for and I'm pretty annoyed that someone has just walked out with it. You can't get hold of it anymore. I checked the pub that night the staff have been really helpful and I'm going in to check the CCTV Monday. None of our friends went home with it so I can only assume it has been stolen or mistakenly taken home. Please, PLEASE if anyone discovers a coat matching this description can you hand it back into the Bishop or PM me. I will be eternally grateful!! Ended a rather nice evening out on a bitter note... Thanks
  9. Thanks for the feedback it really helps to hear that others are happy with the nursery. I've had a mixed experience with Puddleduck's through friends who have sent their children there only to remove them. It's very personal though and what one expects from a nursery might be different to another. LC is a little rough around the edges but sometimes the best nurseries are! thanks
  10. Can anyone recommend little climbers nursery in Nunhead SE15? I'm thinking of moving my child who's 3 in October to a nursery closer to home, any feedback good or bad would be appreciated! I want the move to be worthwhile he is really happy at his current nursery and part of the decision to move is financial, Thanks
  11. Shannons is best i reckon
  12. And why is it gossip if his neighbour was a witness, nothing wrong with taking an interest in what's happening on your doorstep.
  13. Thanks for keeping us informed but there was definitely something very serious going on along Athenlay Rd, I spoke to one of the officers briefly at around 6pm that evening and was told that it was a Road Rage incident. There were numbered forensic markers in the road and forensics photographing the scene. Several properties on both sides of the street were taped off. Renata maybe you could find out what Happened along Athenlay Rd? Personally I would like to know what's been happening at the top of our street! 14. Yes we've been calling UK Power network as have our neighbours. We had our house re-wired about 3 years ago so it's a new electrical system but it's also very sensitive compared to our neighbours. I suggest having a word with your neighbours, provide them with the number as if no one else has called in it seems standard that they suggest it's your problem. Ours are flickering every day now. I think some neighbours didn't want to bother them or presumed it wasn't a big deal but it was affecting our supply more than theirs.
  15. Wow this actually seems to be quite a problem in Nunhead then! I thought it was just our street, we've been having ongoing issues with flickering lights but as we have a particularly sensitive RCD system ours actually trips out, just before Christmas it happened about 20 in one day. I'm constantly on the phone to them, even if your lights are just flickering you need to report it, the more calls they get the more seriously the take it. A few months back it was really bad we had their engineers out they determined that the problem was in the street not our house but said nothing could be done until something went bang!? Anyway low and behold the next day we came home to the road taped off by the fire brigade. The opposite side of the street had a power cut and there had been a fire in one of the cables, dangerously there had also been a gas leak near the fire! All was put right apparently and electrics were sound for a few months. Now our power is cutting out again and the flickering lights are a daily Issue. So I would urge people to call in, it's how they monitor the situation. Sooner they get it sorted the better it's a right pain having to reset everything computers etc...and as we have seen in our street it can be dangerous! Rant over!
