  1. I am the person who was mugged on Glengarry Road. I think people shouldn't be so daft as to be talking on their phone when walking around at night on their own, sorry. But I was mugged despite being wary, with my bag tightly close to my body over my shoulder and keys out ready to get into my house safe. Whoever it is was determined to steal my bag anyway, wrestling me to the ground and breaking the bag's strap to get it off me. I think people see anyone as a target, not just someone with valuables on display.
  2. I was mugged outside my house on Glengarry Road at 11.30 pm last night. I sensed I was being followed whilst walking back from the bus stop opposite Domino's pizza and as I went to open my front door a very tall, young man grabbed my handbag. He is over 6 ft, black (pale skin) and was wearing black and a hood. He ran up Tarbert Road and disappeared. I think he saw me get off the bus on my own and followed me down Melbourne Grove. The police said it was really quite unusual for this area so I was unlucky. Please be careful going home from the bus/train and look out of this mugger. If anyone sees a small boxy rigid brown pale leather bag with small pattern on it, please let me know. Thanks.
  3. Another reason to avoid the place completely - that and the rude reception staff, lack of ability to actually see a doctore etc etc...
  4. Dreadful thought. I and most people I know are not keen on celebrating this, it's just a wedding, we pay enough to the royals in our tax anyway, so the idea of being inconvenienced by road closures would be the last straw. sorry.
  5. I would LOVE a Japanese restaurant!
  6. Slightly odd topic, but does anyone live near Glengarry Road and the main road and is disturbed during all daylight hours by the incessant tweet tweet tweet tweet x 1000000 by what I think might be a blackbird or maybe some sort of tit (!)?! Does this last all year or is it mating season? It's driving us to insanity and heavy ear plug use, despite keeping our windows shut. It's weird because I lived in another part of ED til this year and never had a problem. What's going on, what do those birds want?!?!
  7. Ok, I am convinced that it's being taken care of now. It just looked manky when I last saw it and the sort of dog I wouldn't want to touch, and if someone didn't want to touch my hair I would say that I was in bad condition! I did see a few red raw patches on him. I felt sorry for him. Thanks for letting me know.
  8. Has anyone else seen the old man with a short haired woolly, very large Old English Sheepdog (but short haired) wandering along Lordship Lane? Does anyone else agree that the dog is in very bad condition and needs a vet's attention? I think it's being severely neglected. It has open sores and looks mangey. Should the RSPCA get involved?!
