Dulwich Hill CPZ Meeting 17th July 6-8 pm.
eastdulwichproperty replied to Pugwash's topic in Roads & Transport
Well done Councillor McAsh for standing up in front of this angry mob, he was one of the few sensible people in the room. His calm and reasoned responses were well presented in very hostile circumstances. Several people asked 'why this was happening?' and clearly hadn't understood the problem that was trying to be solved. The attached document 'Foreword' section summarises the overall problem clearly and concisely. I'm sure that there are many more people that would have spoken up in favour of the plans if the meeting hadn't degenerated into an angry shouting match (I say match but of course all the shouting was in one direction), it would take a brave person to stand up to that. Through all the shouting I didn't actually hear anything sensible or constructive from the opposition, what is their solution to the problem? Seasonal movement or subsidence?
eastdulwichproperty replied to bubbachumps's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
You need to negotiate serious money off your original offer if you really love the house, most people would run scared of any movement and will impact your price should you ever want to sell. It is possible to insure (At a cost) but that house will always be worth less than an identical house without any signs of movement. It is a buyers market, use that to your advantage -

How are you keeping cool in the ED heat?
eastdulwichproperty replied to trinidad's topic in The Lounge
We've just had air conditioning fitted to our bedrooms. I have a portable unit that we no longer need, it is for sale on the forum. Cheers Paul -
Are houses selling around here at all?
eastdulwichproperty replied to James's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hardly anything is selling, the things that are heavily reduced from a year ago, take off about 20% from the peak, even more in some cases. Never ever trust what an estate agent says -
That's standard construction. A modern building built with concrete and steel will be far sturdier than a period property built with shallow foundations and bricks. The brick cladding is just for aesthetic reasons. The depth of the brick tiles allows for far more insulation. It is a fantastic idea in my view. Modern construction techniques whilst retaining some character. You will find far more problems with Victorian properties built on clay around here

Hi Each week I buy new beddi g plants, each week they get eaten completely-sometimes just over night. I've tried nemaslugs but this doesn't seem to work on heavy clay. I don't want to use slug pellets for obvious reasons, anyone else had success her to g rid of them? Thanks Paul
