  2. My area review for LuvBro Junction on Deserter: http://deserter.co.uk/2015/03/loughborough-junction/ For reasons out of my control, this piece contains sex and drug references & has swearing from the beginning and throughout. TDR
  3. Update: The Elephant & Castle pub has had its licence revoked Story here: http://www.london-se1.co.uk/news/view/8134 TDR
  4. "Malcolm Hardee was said to have the biggest testicles in the country apart from Jenny Agutter?s father." Comedy guru and East Dulwich resident, Bruce Dessau, has guest blogged on Deserter about South London comedy: The Funny Side of London. http://deserter.co.uk/2015/03/the-funny-side-of-london/ TDR
  5. Thanks guys, Otta, we did push the boat a bit, tbh. Mind you, if you'd seen the state of us you'd know you don't need to spend as much as we did ;) Normally, some tinnies in a rucksack is the answer. The art was all free. BrandNewGuy, thanks, I have removed the ref to zero hours and replaced it with annualised contracts which is indeed the issue (along with the numbers). I appreciate you taking the trouble to post about it. TDR
  6. ...in which I attempt to marry my twin passions of art and binge drinking. My new bit on Deserter: http://deserter.co.uk/2015/03/south-london-arts-holes-2/ TDR Warning: sweary (again)

Dulwich) http://deserter.co.uk/2015/03/pubs-for-boozing-with-kids/ TDR PS If you have any other tips, mention them here (or in the comments section) and I'll pass on to him for updates

  9. Hi all, I went up the Elephant to see if it still had anything to offer despite being a building site. It did. http://deserter.co.uk/2015/02/up-the-elephant/ Once again, apologies for the swearing. I can't help it, it must be the way I'm wired or something. Would love to hear of any other E&C gems. TDR PS I had to cut the food section - maybe another time
  10. Thanks, and I couldn't agree more, Penguin68! In fact I wrote another piece on that very subject: Pubwatch: Herne Hill & Dulwich http://deserter.co.uk/2014/10/pubwatch-herne-hill-dulwich/ TDR
  11. Hi, I have updated my piece about Herne Hill from last year. It now includes updates on the Half Moon and the evictions on Railton Road. http://deserter.co.uk/2014/07/is-herne-hill-finished/ TDR
  12. I wrote a piece for Deserter about Network Rail's plans to evict dozens of businesses in their property in Brixton and Herne Hill. http://deserter.co.uk/2015/02/brixton-arches-shame/ Brixton Blog's petition for a proper consultation for tenants and community is linked to in the article and also here: http://chn.ge/1KMHv6N TDR
  13. Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions. Didn't know about The Arches - is that different to Peckham Springs (which is on the putative list)? Nor the Borough Road Gallery - good tip, thanks - wish I'd put it in art crawl #1 TDR
  14. Thanks, Jah Lush. I meant to say, I am planning another in the spring - Brixton, Camberwell, Peckham, Dulwich. South London Gallery and Dulwich Picture Gallery are shoe-ins, but would welcome suggestions of smaller galleries that people like. And pubs ;) TDR
  15. Sadly, I understand it's to be another food outlet. I wonder what happened to the idea of selling beer out in the ground. Needed more than ever with crowds going up. TDR
  16. Afternoon, I had nothing else to do so I put together a boozy, woozy art crawl in North Lambeth and Southwark. Warning: swearing, drinking and illegal activities. (Once again, I blame Half-life for all the above) http://deserter.co.uk/2015/02/south-london-arts-holes/ TDR
