  1. There plenty of cabs at the taxi rank by the station, but I have seen queues of over a hundred people waiting by the time I finish, with more joining all the time. If you get out literally as soon as the event is finished - don't hang around to use the toilet/buy merchandise etc - you won't have to wait very long.
  2. I work there and after shows just take the Jubilee line to Waterloo and get the 176, or hop on the first bus to Elephant and pick up the 40 or 12 from there. If the last tube has gone or the station is closed due to overcrowding then it's a long bus ride home...
  3. It might not be the right place but I'd just like to stick up for the local Sainsbury's a bit! Each time I haven't been able to find something, the staff on the shop floor are always able to tell me where it is down to the exact shelf, and even give me recommendations (e.g. the right type of brown sugar to buy to make banana cake, and types of herbs to season salmon with), which is something I can't say for alot of other supermarkets or even department stores. The place might be a mess with boxes all over the floor, but I always get good service there.
  4. I've never been overcharged but it is a strange place. Two out of the three or four times I've ever been in that Somerfield (I normally just do a big shop at Sainsbury's) I've been offered cashback, said yes, and then not been given my cash until I realised outside the store and went back.

Not. They did! I got a letter about it through the door a week ago.

Yes, the term half-caste is offensive, mixed-race would have been a better description.
  7. It's because of all the construction work and road closures round Tottenham Court Road station, it's been going on a couple of weeks and I think it's going to continue for a long while. The 176 starts and terminates round the corner on the Charing Cross Road now.
  8. wait a minute, someone described her as being tall and someone else said she was only 5'3... ...is there more than one?
  9. Hello everyone, We've just moved into our lovely new house on Lordship Lane and everything has been great so far except... a couple of nights ago we were disturbed at 1am by a man dressed in black and wearing a cap who came through the porch and started rattling and shaking the front door, before realising my housemates were watching from the hallway. He disappeared and we reported it to the police with a description. We've heard nothing but wonderful things about East Dulwich, but we're now wondering if, living right on the main road, we should be expecting incidents like this on regular basis? Any replies appreciated!
