  1. They are based at Woolwich Barracks.
  2. I don't care - I just want to see a good game. I usually root for Barca but for some reason Madrid's sudden surge towards the top alongside Van Nistelrooy's scoring form means I might go for Real this time.
  3. La Liga reaches a dizzying climax on Saturday and I for one, being poor and without Sky, would love to watch the game. Does anyone know if any pub in ED will be showing the games or offer the possibility of doing so? The Magdala for example?
  4. Don't mind a bit of Boards but they're painfully slow with their output. 2 LPs in nearly 10 years - Kraftwerk-esque workrate but with perhaps not the same quality! However they do have the unique aesthetic of making music that sounds like it's from some long lost childhood.
  5. I get the bus at the Plough as well, and there are always lots of 40s. Definitely a plus that you will get a seat because as a dedicated 185-er, it's not often that one can sit down at that time in the morning.
  6. The walk from LD to Old St is quite nice - you get to see the City and it really doesn't take that long at all. I reckon at a push you could even do it in 15.
  7. 40 to London Bridge and a brisk 20 min walk and you're there.

    seacow

I love the fish in the Sea Cow but the chips are bloody horrible. I heard they import them half-cooked from Holland or something?
  9. The new Throbbing Gristle LP. Much better than I had expected. I also picked up a shedload of Italodisco on a recent day-trip to Ghent. For anyone who likes 2nd hand record shopping, go to Belgium, as it's amazing over there.
  10. Resonance is excellent, and so varied. Personally it's Radio 3 for me.
  11. I expect no-one to like them, as they're a mix of everything electronic (and I mean everything - from Stockhausen to er, italodisco) but you can check my weekly podcast at http://www.bleep43recordings.com
  12. I might be interested. I'm thinking of getting a cat.
  13. I'm not sure if this is genius or not, but it's a disco version of the Beach Boy's "Here Comes the Night" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKfdW0pKBs0 The original vinyl of this is incredibly rare, weighs in at 11 minutes long and I really want it.
  14. I'm reading the latest Thomas Pynchon. Feh.

    The Plough Pub

The Plough is at the bottom of my road and yet after nearly a year of living in ED I've yet to go there. If it's changing hands then I might end up popping in there after work. Ack.
  16. Has anyone ever been in Le Moulin? What's it like? It's either closed or has about 3 people in it when it's open.
  17. The fact that it's called "Badger Bakery" sort of redeems it I guess. The staff should be appropriately dressed though.
  18. Moghul Spice isn't a bad take-away either. As someone else has mentioned, the only thing we don't really have within a quick flash is a decent bakers or a good off-licence, but otherwise it's not too shabby up here at all. I didn't realise that little house is up for sale in Plough Lane and I live on the same road. :S
