  1. Bassist here - see the spot has already been taken but happy to jam when there is a spare slot. Have all the relevant stuff (i.e. a bass and an amp!). Any idea where you could practice?
  2. Can of worms. I will talk to agents and have used Property bee, Zoopla, Hometrack in the past ete etc, just want a perspective from people who have or are actually buying/selling right now. No concensus so will just have to see. Perhaps the Property Bee and land registry sites are the only true way of knowing what's what. Silly question on my part I know!
  3. I have and that as I understand it is for adverts rather than issues/gossip. If I'm in the wrong place then maybe admin will move me....
  4. What's the property market in ED doing at the moment from a buyers/sellers point of view (as opposed to estate agents or newspapers). Thinking of putting my modest 2 bed flat on the market and wondering if things have picked up in the last month or so? Don't really want to get into a detailed dedate as to why I want to sell etc, just want a market perspctive from those with first hand experience if you have it. Thanks!!!
  5. People have the basic right to enjoy the park without being bothered by dogs (or even other people!). We have an 8 month old labrador who will run up to people and other dogs - though she is getting much better with training and age. I think it is absolutely right that dog owners should immediately control their dog and move them away from people unless the stranger show a willingness to interact with your dog (and they often do if you have a good natured dog). It is unreasonable for dog owners to expect everyone to share their love for dogs and non-dog people will often not be too bothered if you bring the dog under control and move it away quickly. Having said that, my girlfriend did encounter one stupid girl who ran into the middle of the road when my girlfriend was walking our labrador (then just 4 months old!) down the pavement. There will always be idiots who who completely over react and as a result put themselves and others in danger. All I would say is make sure you have pet insurance with liability cover because you never know.
  6. Probably not very helpful calling her a silly women. Sure, remind her to call the police but why be so rude?
  7. Will slowly make Peckham Rye more popular and for good reason. North ED and Peckham Rye will become the prime areas worth more than houses located below Whateley/Underhill Roads. Sure it will take a few years but when there are eventually signs of market recovery (not for debate on this thread!!) the e*tate agents will push this. There are some great houses in Peckham Rye within the same distance of Lordship Lane as most ED houses. These must cost up to 20% less the the equivalent in ED. If I was coming to the area say in a year or two I would definitely be looking in PR because of the ELL extension. Even if I wasn't going to be using it! (BTW I live in ED). ED residents should be happy that their neighbours are getting the improved transport links - great for the whole ED/Peckham/Forest Hill area generally.
  8. It is very good news though won't effect me hugely as I'll still get the train (what's left of them) to London Bridge. I remember this being touted as immanet by the estate agent when I bought my flat over 4 years ago. Will make Peckham Rye more popular and for good reason. Those on the north side of ED and in Peckham Rye might even see a related increase in their property prices nearer the time (market conditions allowing etc etc...). Oh god, another house price debate...
  9. I used to commute on the very same boat from surrey quays to tower bridge - there are a few seats outside for the very brave, but everyone sits inside where it is warm and very comfortable. Can't recommend it enough- you'll have to pay a few quid for the privilege but it's worth more than just novelty value. Try the Thames Clippers website for details of times etc.
  10. The best way (not sure if the quickest) is train to London bridge and then on a Thames Clipper boat (not a tourist boat, but a commuter one) which will have you there in about 25 mins??? You'll get a seat and there is a bar.
