  1. Hi Renata Perhaps you could take at the Oglander Road leak threat too! Seems to be rife at the moment.
  2. Yes I live a few doors up from the leak and have reported it too - I assumed lots of other people has too as it's been going for over 2 weeks now. It's very odd. Maybe it's not considered an urgent enough problem and they haven't got round to it yet. The road is also having roadworks done this week and they will soon be down as far as that leak so presumably they will have to do something about it then.
  3. In the name of A Spiller. Is this you?
  4. Hi Jamjars That's useful information (well maybe not useful as we are now playing the waiting game but certainly interesting) - Thanks. I think you are right in that more people will have put it down as a first choice this year and all of the parents there that I have spoken to there seem very happy with it. I guess there is probably going to be quite a high number of siblings this year too as a two year age gap is quite common. Anyway we shall see. March 1st not close enough to be getting 'nervous' as such just yet but it's always at the back of my mind, living around 900m away. Thanks for the information.
  5. Hi. If anyone is in need of childcare over the summer (the odd day here and there or longer) then I can highly recommend somebody. Daniel was a TA at my children's school (St John and St Clements) and has just finished his PGCE, starting his first teaching job in September and available all summer. He looked after both of my children ( 1 boy 1 girl) after school and in some holidays over a period of 3 years and he is great. He will do whatever you want him to with your children and make it fun.. locally or further afield (geocaching for example) and the kids love him. He is fully CRB checked and very experienced with a wide age range of children. Please let me know if anybody would like his details.
  6. That's great to hear. I have no idea why I have stuck with Virgin for so long!
  7. Oh that's great Bic !my current pretty basic package is ?65 a month and Talk Talk will be ?35 for exactly the same things. I have heard Virgin can make it pretty hard to leave them though (as in you have to pay and they also won't take no for an answer - I have asked and asked in the past for a better deal and they knocked a fiver off a month and said that's the best they can do!
  8. Co-incidentally - Has anyone else just had an email this morning form Virgin saying that there has been some changes to their package ? I can't remember exactly how much it was a month before but I am assuming the changes mean yet another price increase!
  9. I am going to take great pleasure in telling Virgin Media that I am leaving them this week after 10 years of poor service and huge expense. I have signed up to Talk Talk who I know also have mixed reviews in ED/PR but I am going to be saving a small fortune every month so at least if the service is still rubbish with them, I shall be better off financially!
  10. I bought these last week for my 6 year old's party and they went down very well - still very popular with 6 and 9 year old a whole week later (boy and girl) https://www.amazon.co.uk/PACK-ANIMAL-PRINT-SLAP-BRACELET/dp/B00JU7UQX0/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1467289709&sr=8-4&keywords=party+bag+slap+bracelet
  11. It was. I was a last minute attendee and thought it was fantastic. Really enjoyed Sally's very useful talk about different jean shapes and what to wear with them, She certainly understands her audience! I can imagine her own personal styling and wardrobe services being great and have kept her card. I think this would be a really good event to do again as people I know that went really enjoyed it and if we could spread the word and get even more attendees and clothes next time I think it would be a great regular event. Lots of people were very pleased with the clothes they got from there and those that didn't really enjoyed the fizz, canapes and the evening (thought I didn't get to experience any of Ehi's lovely treatments sadly but they looked fantastic and everyosy looked as if they really enjoyed them) Thanks very much for organising and also to Sally and Ehi.
  12. Yes Pilsbry exactly what I thought I was doing! Thanks - you have saved me the pain of appealing pointlessly.
  13. Hi Thanks all for the replies and the useful information. I may pop down there and have a look just to see if it's worth appealing or if anything can be done. I know it's considered a road like any other but somehow feels a bit different. Might be worth a go. Either way I shall bear in mind next time as I am sure I have parked like that before due to it being quite narrow. Lesson learnt!
  14. or 'won' an appeal even ... apologies for multiple typos - in a rush at work.
  15. Hi I took my kids to the circus on Monday, had to drive but the car park was full so I parked on Strakers road along with lots of other cars. It's quite a narrow road so I went slightly up onto the kerb (which is completely flat so not 'obviously' a pavement) - I thought It would ensure anyone with a wider car could still get past. I came back 2 hours later and had a ?130 parking fine. None of the other cars had one - I suppose as they weren't on the kerb. I asked a guy from British Military Fitness if he sees it a lot as he always parks there and he said yes - and peaople appeal but he wasn't sure if anyone had one. I just wondered if anyone had experienced this and won and appeal. There are no signs at all anywhere on the road so Its fine to park on. Is it just common knowledge that you get a ticket if part of your wheel is touching the kerb ? I had got cheap Circus tickets though Groupon but it turned into a very expensive trip!
