Was in there last night and I am impressed. It looks a million times better than before! Great beer garden and pleasant staff😄 haven't tried the food yet but hopefully it's good. Quirky seating places, leather sofas and a much warmer feel. Looking forward to enjoying my new local more!

Hey ED, I have a right to smoke in an adult environment and that doesn't Make me a skank. How dare you judge me like that. You don't even know me. asshole. I would not sit down and light up next to a child and blow smoke towards them. But if I am out at a pub, having a cigarette, it's completely inappropriate for someone to ask me not to because they choose to sit next to me.

Hi James! So gutted I missed out on this. Can you tell me when the next one is likely to be so I can look out for it?? Cheers, Jenn
-
Yeah kidkruger. I had a mum ask me not to spoke on the back patio of a pub. I told her that since smokers can't go inside that space is used by smokers and so I had no intention of not smoking. Same with sweating. A place that sells alcohol is an adult establishment. So I won't curb adult behaviour. If I was in a playground it would have been a different story.

Bring on M&S!
-
Yes Nigello. I would rather have a sparse front area then a mess. However I don't look down on anyone who doesn't adorn their front garden with plants and flowers, it does take time and money. But for those who can't I don't think it takes more than a bit of sweat and perhaps some hedge clippers to keep it at least presentable. I recognise not everyone has the means to have lovely plants and flowers, hence why I appreciate those who do have have the means and take the time to do it. :) I hope the original poster is not put off for good now. :)

Stuff like annoys me because I am grateful when people make their front garden look nice. It means everyone can enjoy it and it adds value to he street. But then there are always selfish d*ckheads that ruin it for everyone else with behaviour like that. :(
-
So presumably closed for refurb to be reopened by the redcom pubs lot?? Can't wait! It's about time. Previous owner was a nightmare.
-
That's appalling!! Too bad it wasn't poison ivy! I What a d*ckhead! I hope it dies on them.

Good grief, it looks like it's going to be M&S and really some people just need to accept it and move on!! I mean it's not the end of the world and those people who still want Iceland can go to Peckham for it. It's not miles across London for gods sake!!! As for the price I happen to think M&S have superior sourced and superior quality food and you get what you pay for. But that is my opinion and I am entitled to it. Some of the people on here moaning as if the world is about to end should perhaps look at the bigger picture! There are people in crisis all around the world, Nepal...for example. Stop whinging and get over it! If M&S replacing Iceland is your biggest worry than I would say you are doing alright.

Beer Drinking in the Goose Green Playground
bermygirl replied to DearBBC's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I would rather they have a responsible drink in the playground while their kids play, then sit I a local pub for hours and hours with their child running about and their buggy blocking up free space, together with a gaggle of other people and their babies/children, drinking and acting like the pub is a cr?che. -
One heeled lady hobbling down Lordship Lane
bermygirl replied to NorthernTrix's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I have to stick up for Merrifields as well. I have used his services often, and when I first moved here I locked myself out of my flat and he lent me a ladder to try and get into my garden and door at the back. At the price he offers I think the OP is being unreasonable. I do not think you can have any way to be sure it didn't get caught on something after the initial repair. When you think about it you were essentially questioning the quality of his initial re-heel. Seriously if are going to bicker over ?3.50 then you must lead a charmed life with nothing else to worry about. He has been there for ages and so I doubt he will mind if you don't bring your custom anymore. -
Yeah bawdy man. I hear you. What I am saying is that when I am 5 feet from the actual junction and a pedestrian who I know has seen me, just decides to cross the road anyway. They know they won't make it across before the car is upon them, but they walk anyway. It's ANNOYING! and the bottom line is that if I took my eyes off the road for a minute and someone got hit, I would not be at fault. Because pedestrians have just as much of a duty to take care and wait until it's clear for them to cross, and they just don't.
-
The red raised bricks are also not pedestrian crossings! I don't know what twit thought that. They are to warn blind people that they have arrived at a crossing. Good grief.
-
If a pedestrian sees a car/cycle coming and there is no zebra crossing then the cycle/car has the right of way. It's ridiculous for anyone to say that a car/cycle should always give way to a pedestrian already crossing. The reason we have zebra crossings and traffic lights is to give pedestrians the right of way. As far as I am concerned the family saw you, had no right to just cross in the absence of a zebra crossing and should have waited for you. I find however that pedestrians in ED seem to think they can walk across any road whenever they fancy and traffic should just give way.
-
I am just having a random moan dopamine. :) I don't mind letting someone walk across sometimes, but it's annoying when people just walk across with no regard to who might be turning off of it onto East dulwich grove. I have even had pedestrians give me a dirty look for not stopping. It's quite amusing.
-
I am not talking about that junction. I am talking about the junction that has Oliver bonas on one side and a green corner shop on the other with the bishop directly across the road. Perhaps I have the wrong road name. Oh yes I do. It's the junction of East dulwich grove and lordship lane.
-
Well I must be blind because I don't see any zebra crossing there.
-
Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that people increasingly seem to think that pedestrians have the right of way at the junction of East dulwich grove and lordship lane!!?? People seem to think they can just meander across the road whenever they wish and traffic should stop for them! Sometimes I really feel like running them down! Lol. #roadrageinED
