https://www.change.org/p/mayor-of-the-london-borough-of-lewisham-reinstate-catford-s-missing-pedestrian-cycle-bridge-catford-green-to-doggett-road-se6 I applaud the initiative of Austen Jones to start this petition, it ticks every box about making people feel safer, and it was a serious error of judgement that this proposal was binned for the sake of saving money. When it comes to priorities so often the safety of the public versus 'oh let's install some pavement planters or refurbish our council offices' seems to take a back seat. Even if you are not a resident of Catford I encourage everyone to sign and share this petition. Austen Jones: 'Catford continues to be a 'no go zone' tonight. Your online vote will change this.' Local resident Austen has been urging Lewisham to replace the footbridge that once connected the former Catford greyhound stadium (now Catford Green) with Doggett Road. The initial 2017 design proposal for the footbridge was changed to cut costs ? a combination of stairways and lifts was proposed instead of stairs and angled ramps for cyclists and disabled users. Lewisham council decided in September 2020 to redirect funding secured from the redevelopment of the former greyhound stadium to pedestrian improvements around Catford Bridge Station rather than a promised replacement footbridge. In a statement the council said a replacement bridge had proved ?unfeasible ?due to the complexities and costs associated with making such a crossing accessible for disabled residents. Austen insists it is time for the council to consult and involve local people. ?It is now 2022 ? there?s no bridge, no public comment or commitment from the council. And to date not one of our three Rushey Green Ward Councillors has backed a project that would benefit local residents ??

Posted via Nextdoor. CLARIFICATION This is not to be confused with the previous rape of an 18yo. PLEASE DO CIRCULATE, including via Facebook which I have no access to. I have just created this map, please do circulate including the information that follows, it might help jog someone's memory. This made me cry: In the absence of being able to do anything please at least offer prayers whoever raped a FIVETEEN year old girl will be brought to justice and that the victim is getting lots of support from family and friends. Southwark Police Local Public Service Central South Police (Southwark) ? 3 hrs ago #Appeal | Witnesses. Detectives investigating the rape of a girl in Peckham are appealing for witnesses. Shortly after 18:28hrs on Sunday, 30 January, police received a report of a rape of a 15-year-old girl by a man near Elm Grove, SE15. Any witnesses or anyone with any information should call police on 101, or Tweet @MetCC quoting 5943/30JAN22. To remain 100% anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or visit crimestoppers-uk.org. https://www.met.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report/ It was reported that she was walking past McDonalds on Rye Lane when a man started speaking to her and directed her along Elm Grove and finally to a small green area between Elm Grove and Bellenden Road, where he raped her. The man is described as a black male, aged in his 20s or 30s, 5ft 6 inches tall, of medium build and with cropped hair. He also had a full beard. He was wearing a hooded puffa jacket and black jogging bottoms. The victim is being fully supported by specialist officers. A crime scene has been put in place. A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of rape on Monday, 31 January and remains in police custody at this time. Detective Superintendent Clair Kelland, who is leading the investigation, said: ?We have launched an extensive and fast moving investigation into this horrendous incident and we are doing everything we can to support the young victim. ?I am mindful that this will have a considerable impact on the local community, in particular women and young girls. With this in mind, there will be additional reassurance patrols within this area in the coming days. ?I would also like to reiterate that we can conclusively confirm that the stranger rape reported on Friday, 14 January did not occur within the vicinity of Peckham and there is currently no evidence to suggest that these incidents are linked. ?We would like to speak to anyone who was in this area between 17:00 and 19:00hrs on 30 January who saw anything that might assist our investigation.? https://news.met.police.uk/news/appeal-after-rape-in-peckham-441581

Appeal for Information (I've been suspended from Facebook)
Thunderblue600 replied to Thunderblue600's topic in The Lounge
Dear Sue There is NO duplication - so it took a post seeking RELEVANT advice about how I might be able to appeal to facebook to get my account re-activated for FINALLY after being completely ignored by admin here as to why my listings were removed. 'It wasn't exactly something you could wear in a public place, put it like that ....' Please refer me to the selling guidelines here that PROHIBIT the selling of BRAND NEW men's underwear. Also for your information I am not unique on occasion in the summer to wear men's colourful underwear as outerwear. I leave it with you. -
Thanks for the advice however this is not helpful I wish to avoid having to start again from ground zero

Appeal for Information (I've been suspended from Facebook)
Thunderblue600 replied to Thunderblue600's topic in The Lounge
Dear Sue FACT: Yes a number of items I had previously listed here were removed - WITHOUT any explanation. FACT: I sent a private message to Admin seeking an explanation and received to reply. All my items listed for sale have been removed without explanation 31/12/21 Dear Admin I note without any explanation all my items listed for sale have been removed. Please clarify why my items were removed and also if there were genuine issues what steps I can take to avoid items being removed in the future. Since early November I have made five sales here and wish to continue selling here. Best regards Michael Peacock FACT: In frustration I then made the above private msge into a post via selling section with this description: FOR SALE: EDF Admin Please clarify why my items were removed This was in the hope that I would get a reply - ADMIN then deleted the post. FACT: I had listed a number of BRAND NEW men's underwear items and some coffee table books of male models. Do enlighten me as to how they could be deemed 'inappropriate'? This advice is not helpful 'but maybe you could sign up to Facebook using a new account?' I leave it with you. -
Appeal for Information (I've been suspended from Facebook)
Thunderblue600 replied to Thunderblue600's topic in The Lounge
Dear John For a moment I thought there was hope when I checked out wikihow: https://www.wikihow.com/Recover-a-Disabled-Facebook-Account Unfortunately I am not presented with photo 1 BUT get photo 2 which does not seem to offer any appeal options. But thank you for trying to help. -
In October last year The Telegraph at The Early of Derby, 87 St Dennett?s Rd SE14 5LW thanks to a terrific community effort received a functional piano, and will much enhance the weekly Thursday evening open mic nights. Brian with his guide dog and his son free of charge visited three times to tune and refix the detached lid. Brian and his family very special guests on 18th November which was very beautiful. Anyway ref the first photo unfortunately ONE piano key is non functional and Brian advised that a ?specialist? will be required to get this working. So if you can rise to this challenge or know anyone that might be able to help please do send me a private msge. Making a payment will of course not be an issue. Much appreciated Michael Peacock Nunhead London.

Appeal for Information. On 9th December Facebook notified me that me account was being suspended for 30 days. It was all about the way I described two items I had listed via ?marketplace.? I accepted the suspension and did not seek a ?review. On 10th Jan to my dismay I was notified that my account had been TERMINATED. ?You can't use Facebook because your account, or activity on it, didn't follow our Community Standards. We can't review this decision because too much time has passed since your account was disabled.? Using fb was a very effective way to communicate local community events that I organised or was involved with. FB has also in part been an important part of my recovery from a very dark 15 month period of my life. I had over 4800 friends and 770 followers. Searching the web I did find an email address: [email protected] This bounced back. So that I can make an appeal for my account to be re-activated, I am seeking: 1) Credible contact details for facebook email or telephone numbers ( I understand if you call the USA numbers you only get recorded information. 2) If you know anyone that works for facebook please send me a private message with contact details. I am holding things together however this situation is inevitably having consequences for my general state of well being. Much appreciated if you can also share this appeal with anyone that might be able to help with 1) or 2) Michael Peacock, Nunhead London.

Dear Tosca It was the very least I could do. If you do recognise me on Friday please say hi, have attached a pic, normally quite easy to spot. Anyway had an interesting response via the event I set up on nextdoor: Rosie S-R ? Peckham Rye I want to support the woman and to show solidarity as a community but I?m not sure a vigil is the right way to go..a vigil is for someone who has died. Standing around with candles is in mourning, this young girl is alive and we will be here to show support, but a vigil seems almost inappropriate. A protest maybe, or setting up a collection. Coral R. ? Peckham Rye Rosie I tend to agree with you. Apparently the council haven't even put lighting around the park which has been a known spot for all kinds of offences for as long as I remember. If not now, then when? Michael Peacock ? Nunhead Dear Rosie and Coral over the years I have attended vigils and yes always for someone that has had their life taken in a cruel hateful way. This will be the first vigil I have attended for a living person and feel it is a great idea. Cant begin to imagine the trauma this 18yo girl is experiencing right now and hope this event will offer some comfort to the victim and her family.

Vigil Holly Grove Friday 21st Jan 6-8PM for18yo Peckham rape victim Vigil Holly Grove Friday 21st Jan 6-8 for18yo Peckham rape victim Posted by Tosca Today, 12:57PM Late last Thursday evening a woman was walking away from Peckham Rye Railway Station through Elm Grove when she was attacked and raped by 2 men who wore dark clothes and covered their faces. The Met Police are taking this crime very seriously. There will be a vigil in Holly Grove this Friday from 6-8. Please bring a candle in a jar. Dear Tosca Thank you for making the effort to share this news about the vigil on Friday, I was searching for news about this awful incident and NOTHING came up about the vigil so well done. I will now share your this update via Nextdoor. I do hope the girl is getting plenty of support from family and friends. Please also pray for her and that the two guys will be identified and put away for a very long time.
