  1. I have just watched a very interesting programme on TV about the bombing of the Sir Galahad and it made me wonder whether there were any war memorials in ED. I haven't been here for very long so may have missed one. Does anyone know of any? If not perhaps the roundabout on Goose Green (hey even its even got a Falklands connection) would be a suitable place.
  2. Hi to all I noticed recently that Forest Hill Road now has lots of bins for dog mess and those quaint pictures of guilty looking dogs beside steaming piles painted onto the pavement. Progress indeed. Unfortunately the frequency of the real 'live' turds remains as high as ever. I realise that I can call the hotline to report them (which I have done) but I do have a life and, frankly, I would rather not spend it discussing the habits of other people and their dogs.
  3. A cafe is fantastic news as a nice cup of tea is always welcome after a walk through a lovely park - the cafe in Dulwich park is fantastic and a really positive addition to its facilities. Jacks would be an excellent choice to run it and I am sure they would do well. I do think though that they have sited this cafe in a fairly miserable place - It's not in the park and the outlook onto the rye itself is fairly bland. I hope they build an attractive and interesting building rather than a dull box so as to improve this little corner.
  4. In reply to Louisa - despite living just up the hill from Peckham Rye Park I still very much think of myself as a member of the East Dulwich community. My postcode is SE22 and there my heart lies.
