  1. Any idea what's happened? When I left tonight there were 5 police cars and an ambulance. I'm hoping it's a drill as there didn't seem to be anybody else around and there was no sense of urgency.
  2. Bus to London Bridge took forever traffic is vile. Long wait at LB but there are trains. And I'm on one. In a seat. And finally defrosting. Happy Christmas EDF!
  3. Brilliant thank folks!
  4. Interesting thanks Jeremy - where can I find out which ones? TFL doesn't go out that far.
  5. Sevenoaks - if the trains aren't back up later I'll send a distress signal out and my Dad will come and collect me, I really want to save him a journey though - Christmas is stressful enough without me adding to it. I'm convinced people in hi-vis are working on sorting the trains as we speak though (I hope anyway!)
  6. Groan! Has anybody been down to East Dulwich or Denmark Hill stations today? I need to get back to Kent later and the travel updates are still saying no trains. I was hoping that these might be a bit out of date. I'm going to be in trouble if I miss Christmas.
  7. And? a month on how are you getting on?
  8. My phoneline is dead again. Is anybody else having the same issue? I'm on North Cross. Thanks peeps!
  9. A big "while you were out card" would suffice surely, or am I confusing them with Royal Mail?!
  10. I've just walked down there and there is a film crew and hi vis jackets on display. Any ideas?
  11. The locks have all been changed, which has set me back a small fortune!
  12. Is there anywhere in ED where I can get keys cut today?
  13. Thanks for the responses peeps. It's a tan Russell and Bromley bag which contains my life! There was another tan bag left behind in there so it's probably a case of mistaken identity rather than stolen (I'm trying to remain hopeful!)
  14. I had my bag stolen last night in the Adventure Bar - I know it's a long shot but if anybody finds a bag lurking somewhere unexpected please PM me.
  15. Yeah well done to civilservant and Manda, between the three of us we will shame those litterbugs into using bins, or continue to fail miserably and end up binning their rubbish ourselves!
  16. Right, I have to vent... Location: 37 bus, Herne Hill to LL this evening. I got on the bus and sat next to a man in his 60s eating a Happy Meal. When he finished he placed the rubbish on the floor. We both went to get off the bus at LL so I said in a very polite tone, "excuse me sir, I think you've left something behind." He nearly ran back to his seat to check, when he saw what I was talking about he said "no that's not mine." I said "but I've just seen you eat it?" His response, "no, no, no." A few people were listening and I was beginning to feel really self-conscious, but I kept on, "there's a bin at the bus stop?" To which all he could respond was "no" and he got off the bus. I picked up his litter and put it in the bin at the bus stop myself. When did it become acceptable to behave in this way? By this I mean his behaviour not mine, I was jolly polite throughout! And breathe... okay I'm now over it (nearly...) Thanks for listening!
  17. I did indeed thanks Sean! The lack of info on TFL on the 37 drives me mad, but thankfully the EDF is on top of things!
  18. Hey, I've just got back from a run and spotted four VW campervans so let me jot down the details before I forget: ED 1. Yellow - Reg XMD 2. Orange - Reg WOV 3. Beige - Reg LLA 4. Green - Reg OUW I never realised they were so prevalent. Fingers crossed that this is of use? Edited to remove location of vans. Just realised that I shouldn't be giving away too much information.
  19. Yeah but I'd live in constant fear of death!
  20. Oh is that all? I'll have a lie in! Thanks Sean.
  21. Hey does anybody have any idea how long the 37 will take from LL to Lambeth Town Hall in Brixton? I need to get there for 9.15 ish tomorrow morning and, yet again, TFL is proving useless! Thanks a lot!
  22. I walked it in the end thanks folks and got the 37 back which took 20mins. Easy!
  23. It's 3.7 miles and was walked this evening in 1hr 5 mins. Tfl said 1hr 32! Pah!
  24. Reasons for walking: I haven't run today I have time Guilt free wine drinking Reasons for not walking: I'll have to leave the heels at home!
  25. Thanks Sean & Anna I didn't even think of that although I'm now considering walking there instead. Is that lunacy? It won't take that long will it?!
