Problems subscribing to Southwark recycling garden bin
theboycj replied to Azalea's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I has a terrible experience waiting for a bin, i had to hassle a cllr to get things going. Was sent on a goose chase by tge council initially. Just reinforced my view of how poorly run it is likely to be. -

Hi all I've decided that I need to kick-start my exercise drive given that lockdown and work from home is here to stay... I'm looking for advice on buying an indoor exercise bike... Can anyone recommend a model and any feedback they have? I know peloton is an obvious choice but its way too expensive for a start out bike... Any thoughts advice shared would be appreciated.. Thanks

Youngest in school year? Heber/Goodrich school
theboycj replied to theboycj's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thanks all for the feedback, thoughts and comments. It's not the easiest decision and we think we will talk it through with the schools, I'm glad we are not the only ones who have weighed the decision up! -
Youngest in school year? Heber/Goodrich school
theboycj posted a topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi Looking for some advice here on potentially holding back our son for 1 more year from primary school? Our son is 3 in late August and would be the youngest in his school year if he was to go straight into primary school. We are looking for advice, thoughts of parents in similar situations and any insight into schools reactions in trying to defer our little one for a year. We are thinking either Heber or Goodrich school so any past experiences would be welcomed?! Thanks X -
Hi All Just seeking advice on what people see as the best route from SE27 to around the Goodrich Road area in weekdays from between 7.30-8am? Does the traffic get quite bad at that time? Anyone have any tips advice or comments on traffic etc would be great? Thanks

former East Dulwich councillor - how can I help?
theboycj replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi james I wanted to see if you could help by confirming if the council will collect old radiators as part of the bulky waste collection? Do you know if they would also collect disposed wooden flooring also as part of the bulky waste collection? Rgds Chet -

Inattentive Nanny - East Dulwich Area?
theboycj replied to BScarr's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I think the OP has done the right thing, visible neglect to a child should be reported somehow.. the forum has a large audience therefore has the best chance of reaching the parents here. Don't think there is another way in which to realistically go about it other than to take the nanny's details on the spot (not realistic). -
Southwark Planning - Successful application appeals on Loft Builds???
theboycj replied to theboycj's topic in The Lounge
Hi We are a first floor flat in a victorian converted house. There is a ground floor flat also. Re ianr's question - the exact same build as ours refers to another application that was approved for a similar first floor flat on the same road that had their loft plan approved last year. The plan mirrors ours. Hope that provides context? -
Hi all I'm looking for some advice from the ED community on a loft build that I recently submitted to the council. My architect has been contacted by the council who has been informed that they consider the build to be too bulky and have asked to slim the build down; This is part of the pre-decision dialogue that occurs. There are other builds on the same road that have successfully had their planning approved for the exact same build as our proposal prior to the challenge coming in from the planning officer. What advice would you recommend at this stage? Has anyone else been in a similar situation? Lastly, how strong is the precedent principle should I wish to take this forward for a formal appeal should my proposed build be rejected? All thoughts/comments are welcome!
