  1. That's true. It could have happened either way. Thank you. 2. I think you are right. As people started moving about more these days and there are more noise outside in general to disguise activity like this. Apparently in Toyota?s case it is second and third-generation Prius models (2004-2009 and 2009-2016 respectively) and second-generation Auris Hybrids (2012-2018) which have been particular targets for thieves. However Toyota's website says "Any car fitted with a catalytic converter could be at risk." We were made aware of this theft and given an option to put a Catloc" on catalytic converter to protect it when we had MOT and service done in January, but opted out... Oh, well. Police said they are going to investigate as there are so many reports on this matter. Whether their investigation actually happens or not, there is no harm to alert my neighbourhood on this as it's happening in broad daylight. Thanks. 3. We were warn about this at Toyota garage back in January but we were naive to think we would be OK in East Dulwich... Thank you for your king word.
  4. A catalytic converters was hacked off and stolen from underneath my car this afternoon right outside my home. One of my neighbours' car was targeted as well at the same time. We are both Toyota car owners. This was around 3-3:30 pm today in Landcroft Road /Jennings Road. Another neighbour in my street who witnessed a team of men in silver Mercedes (probably stolen car) in action from some distance kindly came around immediately to let me know what she saw as well as reporting to the police. Apparently they jacked up our cars and hacked off the catalytic converter in a few minutes and drove off. We couldn't believe that this happened when we were all at home and didn't notice anything. I just thought I should warn our community, so people can be more?vigilant?and pay attention to suspicious?activity outside the home even during the day.
  5. ** Update** missing cat has found*** My cat who is having hard time adjusting to her new renal diet came home. ******************************************************************************** Dear my fellow East Dulwich residents, My neutered female cat who never goes far from home went missing since early morning on 19th March from Landcroft Road just behind the Lordship Lane Baptist church. She is a tortoiseshell shorthair moggy and very shy. I'm so worried if she has been accidentally trapped inside someone's garden shed or injured or being sick and hiding someone's back garden. If anyone sees her, please please let me know. Thank you so much.
  6. Aston is the best handyman I know for over an year. I lost count how many times he came to fix or readjust the numbers of doors (internal and external) at my home which keep developing the problems for various reasons. Yesterday, he came to change my bathroom lock which was badly fitted in the first place by the builder who did the extension work at my flat, and replaced and repositioned the outdoor socket box. He is always punctual, works diligently and won't rush his job to finish off as quick as possible unlike some others. He checks and makes sure that I'm absolutely satisfied with his work before he leaves. I feel I can always rely on him as I know for sure he is conscientious with his work. I can highly recommend him as always. His contact number is 07490 947355.
  7. Aston, my reliable handyman came to our home again on Tuesday. He fixed our leaky kitchen extension roof where the vertical wall meets the small single storey pitched roof. He repaired the crumbled motor and filled the gap neatly. He also fixed our garden fencing panels which had become loose from concrete posts by adding some boards onto the existing feather edge panels. He is efficient, thorough and his work is neat. He is punctual and also a great communicator. Just like everyone else recommended him before me, I can always recommend him to anyone. His mobile number (WhatsApp)on 07490 947355.
  8. It is not always easy to find someone who will reply promptly and turn up the time or day that person promised to do a small job. I have asked Aston to fix my problematic front door before and this time for our garden office door. He is reliable and conscientious with his work and charges. am so glad to have found him through this forum and I highly recommend him. His contact number is 07490 947355.
  9. I needed someone who can replace my leaky kitchen tap and removing the old sealants and reapplying the fresh one. Because these are relatively small jobs but time-consuming, I often find it difficult to find someone who are willing to come to do a small job, Aria responded me very quickly and came over for assessment with Daniel and Louis. They are polite, so friendly and very helpful. The work was diligently done and they left me with some very useful advice for what to watch out for the potential future problems. I will definitely use A.F.E Plumbing again and would recommend them.
  10. I would like to thank people who recommended Aston here. After reading many people recommended Aston at East Dulwich Forum, I have contacted him and asked him to re-hang my front door. Although he was booked up for a while, he still made time to come around to my home to check it up prior to the work. On a day of the job, he was punctual, friendly and thorough with his work despite our door wasn't ideal condition. He was also a great communicator and he made sure there was no misunderstanding between us (confirmation of time, date and materials required). I am very happy to have found him and would definitely ask him again to do more job in future.
  11. Hi My nephew, who is a university student in Tokyo, is coming to London for three months from mid September. He is looking for English people interested in Japan and/or Japanese language for language and cultural exchange. He is 21 years old and will be living in a student house in north west London, so meeting up in town would be ideal. If you are, or know someone, around his age who is studying Japanese and interested in chatting over coffee or something, please get in touch. Thank you. gingerandhoney
