Someone should really open a pub dedicated to pub 'sports'. Darts, Shove, Skittles, Bar Skittles, Bar Billiards, Pool. Table football? That would be amazing. We could have a massive pintathalon every week, without having to travel in between pubs.
Looks like the Fox's Jam Creams (or whatever they're called) were a hit. Received this photo message from the office today: "Fox's Jam Creams are ace!" http://farm1.static.flickr.com/227/520214246_46ab6af48a_m.jpg
Ah the Gowlett! I forgot they had a pool table! Go there! I like it and don't get down there enough. That said I've hear mixed things: rubbish on a busy weekend night, but I love it for a sunday pizza and pint in good weather :-)
I can't help but love this forum! I went to work last night and my manager told me someone had come in on Saturday night asking if BarryRoad was working! Well, I only have 3 more shifts for certain (see 'Absolute Favourite Biscuits' thread), but I'll have a large red wine ready for you if you pop in when I'm working :-) Jokes about me earning commission on new business also popped up when my next door neighbour (met on the photo meet, not over the garden wall!) came in with friends yesterday!
As I said, I've never been in, but I've heard it's rough. I've been working in the CPT for a few months and some of the Castle regulars come down sometimes. Generally they're fine - a bit loud, I suppose. The thing is with pubs, though, it all depends on when you go. During the day or on a quiet week night it's probably absolutely fine!
I'm yet to voice my congratulations to Mockney Piers and Dulwich Mum - DM - Fantastic blog, you already know I love it! MP - I've already told you in person, but absolutely fantastic set of photographs for the story! *drools on MP's f1.4 lens*
I went for Fox's Golden Crunch Creams, Chocolate Hob-Nobs and Fox's version of Jammy Dodgers. A parents' evening selection, if you like. Got a job offer. Sweet.
Hey everyone, I have a meeting at an agency later today and they told me I have to bring the biscuits. It's very important that they like them, so I'd like to put it out there and see what your favourite (readily available) biscuits are. I was thinking of hitting them with some Taste the Difference, and then some classics like those shortbreads with currants in them. Must be excellent dipped in tea.
Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good B&B, suitable for my mum to stay in on a visit? Obviously, the closer to Barry Road/Whately road the better :-)
In my second year at Central Saint Martins, I was briefed to respond to the change from routemaster buses to bendy buses. As a Barry Road resident (no prizes there) I was particularly fond of the number 12 routemaster. Anyway, here's the written piece that accompanied my animation (I'm by no means an animator, so I felt there was some explaining to do!). http://seholtaway.blogspot.com/2005/10/about-mister-chappy-chap.html I'll post the animation somewhere once I transfer it form the old mac to the new one and post it on youtube or similar :-)
*sips rather disgusting instant coffee out of ex-housemate's faded Liverpool mug (needs to do washing up, it's not out of choice, sorry Keef!)* *Hopes the service at the CPT last was good, as was serving Mark, feels a bit bad for giving him the 'one minute' finger when being given ED postcards!* Edit 12:56pm: *Utters profanities under his breath having dropped a spent match in his coffee by accident*
One request: whoever chooses the design for the bags, can you make sure it's not green? You know, "it's green because it's green". I hope that makes sense on an already (sometimes) volatile thread! ;-)
*falls asleep dreaming of 'The Veuve' instead of Carlsberg* *stirs and thinks, 'I'd quite like to witness a discussion on fine champagne between DM and my girlfriend'* *passes out again*
