Hello, not sure if i should post in the lounge or here! but has anyone painted there house internals grey? i am on the look out for a light grey shade for my house. i cant find a decent shade :( and also cannot find the dulux areas that used to exist to mix up your own paint colours in homebase and b & q! can anyone suggest a nice shade? its a family house...

The strange part will be when you are sitting at the table not carrying the nappy changing bag and eating your meal while its hot!! how about the shard? or the OXO tower?

Hello! I need some advice on alarms/ security system. I have heard awful awful reviews on ADT. Can anyone recommend an alarm company? How do parents cope with children and alarms , how do you structure your system? as i still need to go to the kitchen in the middle of the night to get milk for my daughter if the alarm is activated how does this all work? I am totally new to alarm systems but we really need one in the street we live in, its a quiet place!

Hi everyone! Right i am a first time home owner... I may have some daft questions but please look beyond the daftness and help ! 1. Our house has original wood flooring - how can we 'restore it' as its been carpeted over. 2. we have some woodworm in the garage - do we start treating this now? OR as we are extending our kitchen into the garage once they plaster/ skim or what ever they do will it go or does it need to be consistently treated ( as i have a 2 year toddler very concious about these infesations) Would treating the whole house once over make a difference? i am not sure on the costings. i just want to make sure its a safe enviroment for us especially my toddler! 3. Cooker... does a range master neccessarily have to be agains a wall that is an outer wall? we have windows along a length where the current sink is , we want to have the sink and cooker on different sides ( and i would prefer to have a range master cooker or the likes of something similar!)

Hi all Can someone please enlighten me on the dulwich estate management. Has anyone here dealt with them? We are on the cusp of signing contracts for purchasing a house which we didn't even know was part of this management ( it's a freehold property and I am not from south London originally so didn't even know of it's existence ) The house we are buying needs a lot of modernisation. Now from what I've researched we need to permission to touch anything external. As mentioned in the traders section I need to knock out a chimney wall in the kitchen into the garage to make a larger kitchen with eating space. The garage is a bricked structure. Does this need permission? Along with our toilet to be is seperate from the bathroom we wanted to make it one big bathroom - does this need permission? Thank you in advance for your responses

Hello all! Does anyone have any recommendations of a cheap but good break? We would just like to be in a really hot ( temperature wise!) place and a great resort so our toddler and we can just swim and relax! ( we have been house hunting and fed up of being dissappointed every weekend!) thus the emphasis on cheap.. because buying a house in/around Dulwich is rather expensive!
