Noisy helicopters during the night!
MadWorld74 replied to Lizziedjango's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
it was bloody noisy. The sirens didn't stop wailing until after 1.30am. -
no.....comments far more 'contemporary' than that. I have short hair, which naturally makes me a 'rug muncher'. That sort of thing.

Actually if I can just add one more request, and Chris, I have no idea how you would get round this, it's to inforce a 7pm ban on all site clothes. All the time I go in there, the bar is two to three deep with foul mouthed and even fouler clothed blokes proping up the bar making the place very uncomfortable. The baning of site clothes after a certain time, (CPT has a constant ban on them) may be a step in the right direction. But then there's the blokes themselves.....I don't want to go to the bar to get a drink only to be called 'darlin' as they step out of the way for me, and THEH have them size me up as I wait for my drink, talking and making comments about me. The last time I went in there, some blokes at the end of the bar were swearing so badly and using the 'c' word so much that I thought I'd walked into a proper East End boozer. I'm not new to swearing; I do enough myself, but when I have to hear men talk loudly about the size of a womans c*nt that one of them has shagged the night before, it's too much. What do you reckon, Chris?

and yes, Low...were apparantly at their lowest. A guy we met the day after said that he almost got his head knocked off with the guitar that was thrown into the crowd.

We were all very very attractive after a few pints of Somerset cider......B)

oh my God a beer at 2pm? well done. I just about made it to the front door in one piece. strange tho as we were going to the Plough that afternoon as well for post fest medicine, we would have bumped into you again! Are there any pictures from the festival itself on the web yet do you know?
-
I may have bumped into you hannahspanner....but I have no idea what you look like. And SEan did you get rescued from the que?!! That's not fair. We had to coach, train, train and bus it back to ED.

oh yes! highlights!! I almost forgot. Getting annihilated on Somerset Fire Fluid masquerading as cider. Stumbling around until 4am on the first night, looking for Mr MW74...and the tent! Meeting a very friendly Irish man; whose name I cannot remember, in The Bimble Inn. He was a riot. Pete and the Pirates. British Sea Power who played a cracking set. The man in the technicolour dress! The Little White Lies cinema tent. Home to a mini film festival, 'Future Shorts' The african drum tent where I played the drums until way into the eary hours. The Wave Pictures. The flashing disco stage. Ping pong in the trees. Richard Hawley, who as SMG says also fell victim to the perils of the hellishly strong cider. and... the brillant place we pitched our tent. Right over at the edge of the campsite. Hardly anyone around. Just a wonderful silence and a wonderful view. And of course the tree gardens themselves.

Great to see you and your lovely lady at the festival SeanMacGabhann! All the way down in deepest Dorset and there's a forumite, large as life. Was a great weekend. Just got to wash the mud off everything including myself! Tickets are on sale for next year already. And remember, peacocks rock and cider is dangerous for the soul and my sole. :)-D

Keef I know how your friend feels, some people on here really get my goat. Fucking cheek to correct one's grammatical errors. Especially when they seem to be mine a lot of the time.

The End of the Road Festival in Dorset this weekend? ...... http://www.endoftheroadfestival.com/ if you are we'll see you there :))

hang on a minute the trains from Peckham Rye are already packed! I use this route into Blackfriars every day. If the East Dulwich Station commuters start to use the Peckham Rye trains as well then the whole things goes tits up. And I WANT to travel by train not tube thanks. So the new tube proposal is of no interest to me. Bloody ridiculous.

phew! I start to act shifty when they go into their 'Sweeney' mode. Maybe we should go in to the shop together one day, giggirl and really play with them.

Security gaurds in Boots, Fleet Street and Tesco Metro in ED. I am not a thief, but every time I walk into these shite holes the security guards seem to jump into action and proceed to follow me round the frigging shop. When I started to follow THEM about the shop they go all hot under the collar. What is it with these people? Does this happen to anyone else?

If you read the menu at The Palmerston and then the menu at The Herne, would you know that they were linked, same owners? No...didn't think so.
-
I have to agree, the difference between The Palmerston and The Herne is mind blowing. You wouldn't expect such a huge difference if you went to The Bishop and the The Florence in Herne Hill.
