  1. Is this any good? https://www.southwark.gov.uk/transport-and-roads/cycling/cycle-with-confidence
  2. Instructions are clear on back of sticker. It goes on back of bin. You are supposed to put it out with the handle facing out onto the street so the bin men don't have to turn the bin round, just grab the handle.
  3. We just received our sticker yesterday
  4. The holiday club attached to Southwark Gymnastics usually runs for longer than other holiday clubs. My son enjoys it. https://bookwhen.com/southwarkgym#select=ev-syep-20190827083000 Brunswick Park Primary School, Picton Street, Camberwell, SE5 7QH

    Olive oil

Bambuni in Nunhead used to have olive oil for sale, you had to take in your own bottles to fill. Haven't been there for ages so don't know if they still have this in their current shop.
  6. From faqs: What if I want to sign up but don?t have space for a brown wheeled bin? If your property does not have space for a garden waste bin, but you do still have a garden and wish to dispose of your waste, you will be able to purchase a pack of 20 garden waste bags for ?15 from www.southwark.gov.uk. These are not a direct alternative to having the garden waste wheeled bin - you will need to book a collection, via the website, each time you wish to leave a bag or bags out for collection.
  7. I suggest you go for road narrowing and not speed bumps unless you want your houses to shake like on every other street round here where speed bumps have gone in. I really hope after spending 10s of thousands putting in and then removing speed bumps all along Ivydale that the council does not waste more taxpayer money. The road narrowing are good.
  8. Make sure traffic calming measures are not speed bumps or you will double your problems.
  9. Thanks for this, I took my son today, great value indeed for a pound! I was wondering if there were similar offers at other Southwark venues and came across the 'Southwark presents card' which offers discounts e.g. 2 for 1 at Dulwich picture gallery and the old operating theatre (new to me). https://www.southwark.gov.uk/events-culture-and-heritage/the-southwark-presents-card
  10. We took 3 feet off the end of our kitchen to make loo on outside wall and additional store cupboard on other side, next to existing under stairs cupboard. As our kitchen was knocked through already into kitchen diner it is still a good size. I think having loo next to outside wall helped with the plumbing. Not sure cost as it was part of other work we had done and a few years ago.
  11. I recommend Fishers Farm park near Horsham. They have accommodation though it is pricey, but there must be other options nearby. It's got rides, animals, climbing, trampolines etc. It kept my son happy for a whole day, and he wants to go back. And unlike any other 'theme park' ever, I would too! It's on the right scale without constant noise or big queues. To the east of Horsham is the llama park which we didn't get to but looks good for another day out.
  12. Or similar from Minoura. I had one of these and it worked fine. https://www.evanscycles.com/minoura-gravity-stand-00103513
  13. Hi Digbina. Do you have contact information for Jolly Foresters please? I tried contacting them in the past but didn't get a response. Spoony- my son (9) goes to Southwark Gymnastics' holiday clubs and likes them https://bookwhen.com/southwarkgym Also the sports club at Dulwich College very good and the one at JAGS looks good too. Not sure if these run in HT or only in the longer holidays.
  14. We've used both Moggie Minders (Catford) and Red Lion Cattery (Shooters Hill) and been pleased with both.
  15. I have to come back on my response. Now at 9 both dexterity and patience are much improved in my son. He's still had the new ones less than a week but is very enthusiastic about them (tidying, dressing, teeth all done quick sharp in the morning so he can play). And they have survived (indoors) so far. He's mastering how to manoeuvre them.
  16. We have had 2, neither with camera, both very short lived. One quite expensive but fatally damaged in collision with tree on first outing. They are hard to control and it was too hard to get my son (also 8 at the time) to spend time practicing to learn how to work it properly. He's just received two more for his birthday, which have survived the first 48 hours. The rotor blades are quite well protected and son is 1 year more sensible. I wouldn't highly recommend.
  17. Good idea James. Unfortunately I suspect there are many examples of I'll thought out traffic calming measures being put in and then removed not much later at huge cost due to complaints from residsnts. On my road speed bumps/tables had to be taken out as the regular buses going over them caused nearby houses to shake. That said, I don't really understand why the council is agreeing to these changes to Crystal Palace Road.

  19. Devon is big. Anywhere near Exeter?
  20. Southwark gymnastics. The ad refers to 2017 but if you follow the booking link it's summer 2018 dates. http://www.southwarkgymnastics.co.uk/Holiday-Programme
  21. Southwark gymnastics - 2 hour sessions + before and after activities http://www.southwarkgymnastics.co.uk/Holiday-Programme
  22. If I call out Briticism does the klaxon sound, like on QI? Does klaxon have two xs?
