Exactly. When I am driving along streets with cars parked either side and lots of people around, my focus is quite short, looking out for dangers in the immediate area rather than looking up at roadside signage etc. I would have been caught out by similar near Ivydale school had I not recently been leafleted about the change from them using physical barriers in school hours to using cameras- the new sign at the roadside was unobtrusive. If they are going to do this there ought to be road markings too.

Lots, and mostly just turn up on the day. Some change from term to term, others are consistent.Most are free, small charge for things like tennis and maybe also cycling at the velodrome.

There's a new Travelodge in Peckham near the library. The Victoria Inn on Bellenden Road has rooms upstairs - but it can be noisy as they are above a pub. Friends of mine stayed in the Church Steet Hotel in Camberwell and really liked it, although I will caveat that that was several years ago.

I switched from gas to induction hob when I moved house - reluctant to begin with but now really like it. Our hob has induction rings at the front and non-induction at the back. Unless you regularly use >2 hobs at a time this could be a good compromise to get round the cons listed in other responses.

Sainsbury's briefly went to only allowing slots to be booked a week ahead, but last time I looked they'd opened up the following week too. I've not had any problems finding a weekly slot in the current lockdown/tier4.

What about North London? E.g. Winchmore Hill to old street, 4 direct trains per hour, takes under half an hour. Palmers Green / Alexandra palace are en route, the latter would only be 20 mins to old street. Schools have more outdoor space.
