Colin worked over the Bank Holiday weekend to put up some shelves, repair and paint some warderobe doors and fix a small plumbing issue. Saied visited again and helped update and look after our garden which needed some tlc Thanks Saied

Just spent two days with Said as he cut back and cleared our garden. I was lucky to have a couple of days off so helped with the labouring and learnt some tips along the way. It was amazing how a smallish garden can generate so much to bag up and dispose of. Said was great company and has transformed our garden. Now what to plant next ....!

Any pubs doing a double header Saturday- Ireland v Wales and England v France on Sat. I know it is an early start but must be big interest. I'd certainly get out for 6am coffee breakfast and two big games. Sam

It may not be East Dulwich but we can highly recommend Federation Cafe in Brixton Market Village. The coffees are all NZ/Aus style. I am not a milk drinker but appreciate being able to ask for a 'long black' and then get what I was expecting. What is an absolute pleasure is their bacon and egg pie, if you know a good one you don't need it described just go and try it- quite small pieces but I am just greedy. Other delights are friands, ANZAC biscuits and we have even seen Russian fudge there. In short, if you are a NZer it will feel satisfyingly familiar, if you are not you will simply think it has superb coffee and food.

All fascinating history-so personal My grandparents grew up on the Old Kent Road-moved to Dulwich, ended up on Lytcott Grove. My mother (as a toddler-remembers going to the cinema coming back to find a flying bomb had flattened several houses in the street. Their house was destroyed but in the back half of thehouse her uncle was still alive in the kitchen. My grandparents after the war-like many-went into council housing-insurance never covered the costs. My grandfather later became the labour MP...suceeded (on his death) by Harriet Harman. Sam

Best pub to watch above match? -especially where they'll be NZers and home support (we're a divided partnership!) for some atmosphere and banter-or should I venture to Clapham or Wimbledon,,, Thanks Sam

And at the weekend the 'seek assitance' light came up with open barrier;went through owing to crowds and got charged ?6.00 for the journey. Speaking to station staff they seem unsure of rules and told me to ask at Underground stations where 'they know'. Not sure evryone has been trained how to advise us on Oysters'. Sam

So it's good bye to the off peak travel card after all these years. Can anyone tell me what is the oyster daily rate capped at? Currently my off peak (or weekend) daily travel card is ?6.30. I can't find an actual figure anywhere. Thanks Sam

Yale premium got a good write up (via google!) -all comments came from people who had installed it themselves (and then had done so for many neighbours!!)..not sure I feel comfortable installing my own and an alarm company I called not surprisingly felt they (wireless alarms)were not 'useful' etc..and had no interest. I know you get what you pay for etc. Will keep looking. Thanks to Applespider for the ref- Sam

Thanks to all-went via Clapham Comm/ Battersea Bridge-along river north side and out to A4- 55 mins at 10 am-quiet as holidays though. Coming back a little edgier wodnering where to turn off A4 before Con Charge. Sam
