  1. Thanks for the recommendation! Seconding here. Alex came at short notice, fixed our sink and took a look at our dishwasher. Really nice guy, great plumber and incredibly reasonable price. Recommend!
  2. It can be tricky as your levels can show as normal and you still feel bad. If that's the case, worth asking your doc to order a blood test for intrinsic factor (stomach protein that processes b12) as this determines whether your body can take up that B12 floating around. Intrinsic Factor deficiency is pernicious anaemia. Lots of good info/real experiences at www.theb12society.com But to your original question: I had very low B12 and my IF was fine so oral supplements work for me, but to get me started, I bought an injection voucher redeemable at certain London pharmacies from VitaJab (I shopped around) for £27 (think it's £29 now). Booked an appt, got my jab within the week and my doc approved of the jump-start. https://www.vitajab.co.uk/
  3. Lee Garvey plumbing came by to help out with a temperamental boiler that was firing but not heating water. It decided to work on the day but they gave lots of good advice regarding the boiler and possible reasons. We've used them before and would recommend them anytime. Lovely guys. Kirsten
  4. I don't know any more than this, I'm afraid. The police simply said that it was two white guys in a black van who posed as gardeners and stole her purse. Reading between the lines, they probably wouldn't have gone to the trouble of impersonating gardeners if they planned to snatch it in front of her, so presumably it was a ruse to get into her house and take it. No, I don't know what accents they had. Since the officer didn't mention them as being of note, I presume local or neutral English, but honestly no idea.
  5. I don't know them, I'm afraid (only know one of our neighbours). I only spoke to the police officer. I expect the thieves will steer clear of Silvester Rd now they know the cops are looking for them.
  6. Hi folks, Just had the police round to our place on Silvester Road to say our neighbours had a visit from two white males in a black panelled van who claimed to be gardeners, then stole her purse. We didn't see anything sadly, but if you were in the area and did, please let the cops know. Might also be an idea to warn people you know in the area, particularly vulnerable groups. Cheers! K
  7. Thanks very much for the suggestions! These all sound great, and I'll certainly keep my eyes peeled for that brightly coloured parakeet impersonator next time I'm in Nunhead!
  8. Hi all, Recently moved to ED and fancied some nice rambling among the birds and trees. I'm based near Lordship Lane and London Wildlife Trust suggests my nearest place is the Bellenden Road Nature Garden. Going to check it out at some point but is there anything a little more woodlandy about? Where are your favourite ambling routes? Thanks!
