New Flats At ED Station - Be Warned! (it has a "veneer")
monkeylite replied to Zak's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Looks fine. Obviously it is damaged because it was hit by a lorry. Want to see pictures of brick houses when hit by lorries? They can look pretty bad too. While my 140 year old Victorian house is still standing, it is only doing so thanks to being a mid terrace held by other houses, some of which has been underpinned. Insulation is horrible and I can hear my neighbours sneeze, and smell whenever they smoke weed or whatever. My next house will definitely be a new build. -
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Will write to my Councillor voicing support for the tower.

Shooting in Lordship Lane opposite Grove Tavern
monkeylite replied to malcolmchurch's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Sounds like the OP owes ddboy an apology for asking (rather politely I have to add) if the OP has a source about this alleged shooting. -
My mum got robbed by black boy on pedal bike
monkeylite replied to Peckhamguy's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Why shouldn't the OP give out identifying features of the alleged assailant? I am saying this as an ethnic minority. -
Trains just getting worse? What can we do?

I think shops here should accept Scottish notes, but there is a misunderstanding on the term legal tender. Scottish notes aren't even legal tender in Scotland. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/banking/2010/05/true-or-false-scottish-notes-arent-legal-tender

Contact trading standards and the police. It sounds like the same rogue builders that has been scamming people in Crofton Park: http://brockleycentral.blogspot.com/2016/04/crofton-park-homeowner-slipped-roofie.html

Brockley and the surrounding areas has already been 'discovered'. http://www.homesandproperty.co.uk/property-news/buying/london-house-prices-new-report-reveals-lewisham-is-the-capitals-fastestrising-borough-a100996.html There's a great community forum on FB: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ILoveSE4/ I don't have a child, but a couple of friends of mine sends theirs to Hilly Fields nursery close to the station. Upside of the area are it has good transport links (East London Line, DLR in Lewisham, national rail to London Bridge, Gatwick, Blackfriars from Crofton Park), a fantastic Saturday market, London Beer Dispensary, coffee shops, open green spaces (Telegraph Hill, Hilly Fields). Downside is the lack of a proper high street, but Lewisham and New Cross are a bus ride away, and Canary Wharf is a couple of stops away on the tube. Brockley does have better Victorian housing stock than ED. Even the modest 3 bedroom terraces outside the conservation tend to be larger than those found in ED, with slightly longer gardens. As for extensions, you can try out Gruff Ltd, a local based architect firm http://www.grufflimited.com

I've got one for snorkeling trips. Older model (Hero 3+), which has a depth rating of 40m. There are three buttons on a GoPro, which makes it baffling to learn how to use initially but you will get used to it via muscle memory like I did. GoPro has no built in memories, but I use two 64GB micro SD card which records about 4hr in 1440p mode on each cards (roughly 2hr in 4K mode on the newer Hero4 Black). Make sure you get a UHS-I card (eg Sandisk Extreme, Samsung Pro) as GoPro records in high bitrate. Some of the newer models has build in LCD, which is useful for framing (though probably useless when snorkeling). You can also get a live feed when used with the iPhone/Android app. If you do get a GoPro, get multiple third party batteries (DSTE on Amazon are far cheaper than GoPro batteries, and just as good) and anti-fog inserts (essential for snorkeling/diving).

TW used to turn a blind eye until more people started coming and creating a huge mess, blasting loud music and partying through the night disturbing local residents, and even creating bonfires. I miss my time going up the reservoir, but can understand why TW was forced to do what they did.

Camberwell Bakerloo extension looking unilkely

Pretty sure there are people who lives around OKR who pays their taxes as well. -
Fazer is like this heavy smoker I know who complains about the presence of secondhand smoke.

Camberwell Bakerloo extension looking unilkely
monkeylite replied to Earl Aelfheah's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Camberwell is served by the well connected Denmark Hill and is a short walk from other stations. OKR has nothing. And there are tens of thousands of existing residents there as well. In an ideal world, there would be two new lines/extensions coming down both ways. But I can see why OKR would get the nod. -
Typical capitalist, let others suffer from the problem as long as they don't. Tbh, I find Fazer's lack of understanding of supply and demand concept of market economy to be incredibly funny.

The 124 Lordship Lane eyesore
monkeylite replied to Ms Blueberry's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
This is clearly none of the OP, and other people's business, so why would you post what is supposed to be a confidential info on a public forum, Mr Cllr?
