Mating toads at the pond in the garden last night. Another 16 or so were dotted about having a grand old time. Slightly later this year than last. see pic attached.
Hi Last seen on the grass in the picnic area of Peckham Rye park returned 20 mins later and not found, reported loss to park warden. Please contact me if you do find them Louise
I highly recommmend Crystal palace pool. Its 50 m, and I use fins and floats there no problem. No idea what one poster was saying about resticted hours. THere are always 3-4 lanes available for serious swimmers 7am - 7pm https://www.better.org.uk/leisure-centre/london/crystal-palace/crystal-palace-national-sports-centre/timetable/pool and of course there is the 50 m lido at Brockwell park for the summer months. Personally dont rate JAGS because of VERY restricted opening hours and short pool.
I have reported this knotweed to the council in the past. It has been sprayed, but keeps coming back - nature of the beast. I know that I am not the only one to report it. Noone wants to see it spreading any further.
I'm not a commuter but does Bic Bashers remark re east Croydon mean that we will get back an ED EC connection on 2018? If so fab news for Gatwick connections.
Hi Ashley a small group of us run on a Monday morning at 930 from Dulwich Park usually, through the woods when its not too muddy. We are pretty slow but you are welcome to join us. we run 5-6 K usually unless someone is injured. Coffee afterwards is virtually mandatory! Let me know if you are interested, Louise Just off for a run to Brockwell park
The park authorities have been trying to control the robust rat population around the lake and surrounds. There are many rodent control points - small black plastic things with bait and poison. On one walk last week I saw over 6 different rats. I am sure that the park people try to site the baited traps away from areas that might be accessible to dogs, Dog walkers beware.
I agree with Bobbsy and Bargee, no local trains through to East Croydon make getting to gatwick MUCH harder , we've already lost ED to EC, now Forest Hill too! Beyond Clapham Junction - shudders. Any other options avoiding LB?
