  1. I'd just like to add that Mark & Sons nr East Dulwich station were just rude to me when collecting a collect plus parcel including the muttering of expletives under their breath when I made a remark 'service with a smile'. I'm not sure if they're just not happy with people coming in and collecting parcels and not buying anything or just generally rude. Needless to say I decided not to spend my hard earned cash on a some supplies whilst I was there.
  2. hi I bought in a neighbouring block and can confirm that they are central heating and hot water pipes. Rerouting them is expensive - but I've managed to cover them with plastic skirting board covers in one room. It looks much better.
  3. Hi I live on the top floor of one of the blocks on the DKH Estate and have been experiencing extremely low water pressure in the morning (presumably when everyone needs to use it before they go to work) - between 0700 and 0930. It's so low , I cant use the shower. This has been an ongoing problem but has got worse in recent works due to the leaks and burst water mains. Thames Water have been using this as the excuse for the problem (despite it being a problem for months). I'd be interested to find out whether any one else is experiencing low pressure on the estate. It is proving difficult to get it fixed as Thames Water are claiming that they only have to provide sufficient pressure to the ground floor of any building and Southwark Council are saying its nothing to do with them. Let me know if you are experiencing the same problem
  4. I live on the DKH estate(bought about 2 years ago). I've met all the neighbours on my floor and they are all pleasant and friendly. I'm constantly getting invites to resident meetings and schedules of all the activities on offer at the community centre. You will get a lot of space for the money too. The downside is having to deal with Southwark council - It took 6 months and eventually a letter to the manager for the council to set up my service charge account. I regularly receive demanding letters stating that I am outstanding in my payments - despite arranging to pay by standing order over 12 months. Be aware that they council have done and plan to undertake some 'major' capital works on the estate including sorting out the collapsing retaining walls along side dog kennel hill, some redesigning and landscaping of the car parking areas. I have queried whether, as a leaseholder, I will be expected to pay for any of these works. The answer was yes - but only a proportion of the works that are not deemed necessary for health & safety. All in all - it was a good buy and I enjoy living here.
