  1. Missing 8 month old calico cat, Dotty, In the Melbourne Grove, Lytcott Grove, Colwell Road area. She’s got a red collar with her name and phone number printed on it. She’s small and slim, mixed white, ginger and black with a white tip to the end of her tail & distinctive beauty spot on her face. She’s pretty shy so unusual for her to roam far but hasn’t come home when called for her. Thanks, Sally

  2. Found this ring this morning, Tuesday 12th December, around 0840, on Melbourne Grove opposite the junction with Chesterfield Grove.
  3. Gumboots LEYF on Crystal Palace Road might be. They?ve joined with Camberwell Grove LEYF. Let me know if you need a contact.
  4. UPDATE: Thanks to anyone who kept an eye out for Nero. He tumbled through the cat flap at 10pm last night, hungry and rather sorry for himself. I imagine he had quite the adventure! Our black cat Nero made a break for it on the way to the vets this morning, somehow forcing the gate on his carrier. It was on Melbourne Grove and he dashed into the gardens between numbers 80 and 86. It's not too far from home but wanted to get the word out now in case he get's lost as he's pretty old. He's fairly slim, with the top of one ear missing and blind in one eye (with a grey patch on the iris) from previous escapades. Pic attached. No collar but he's chipped and registered at The Neighbourhood Vet on Lordship Lane. If spotted can you give me a call please - 07941635723 Thanks Sally
  5. Not a great angle as was running for train but you can just make out the tash they've given Farage.
  6. It does say a lot doesn't it! And here I thought I'd be inundated with posts. Didn't know about the Plough one...
  7. Good Friday to you all... Ok, so I know there's a lot of singles out there and wondered if anyone was up for a singles night sometime at the end of this month? Nothing too organised, just an opportunity for those who are not attached and in the area to meet up. Anyone interested?
  8. Klaus - thanks, will bear all in mind as I traul the interweb for suitable steeds. Don't suppose you could recommend somewhere that servcies hub systems? I've got one at the moment and it keeps slipping in 6 and 7 and I want to get it serviced before turning her in. I'll give the canal a try on the weekend... hmm. That sounds rather dodgy does it not! Yes Horsebox, you're right, it is a longish route. I used to go oval and vauxhall bridge but found that at this time of year when it's windy crossing Vaxhaull bridge is a kin to wading through tracle with buses on one side! And I agree, Westminster bridge is better by far for views. To be honest I just like the parks and lack of traffic I get that way. And a bit more of the sun in the summer. Where do you go to? Oh, and if anyone is interested in a ridiculousy old peugot mountain bike please let me know. I need to get rid of it and feel awful binning something that's seen me through the good times and the bad...
  9. Huh - I never realised there was so many of us! I do Ed to Marble Arch (just behind selfridges to be exact). It takes roughly 35 minutes (I'm probably being a little generous there...) 7 miles I think, so 14 a day. I'm getting a new bike for chritmas - any suggestions from out there? I was thinking of a ridgeback hybrid but would welcome advice. Currently on a borrowed german tour bike which is lovely but frankly a bit dull when it comes to some decent heart pumping stuff. I'm intrgued by this much spoken of 'canal'. Where is this place? I go dkh, camberwell grove, burgess park, new kent road, blackfriars road, southbank, westminster bridge, royal horse gurads the mall and on to hyde park. I love Westminster bridge in the morning, especially days like these. It's like some cheesy american film. Also, any hints on somewhere that mught be able to service a bike with enclosed gears - I'm sure that's not the right terminology but hey noone's posted on this thread for a while so hopefully I won't be picked up on it...
  10. Aahh... Martha Wainwright! She's saved my soul on a number of occasions. Haven't heard of Coco Rosie or Cat power though, will have a MYspace shuffty now. On a purely 'check out my mates' tip, have a look at 6 Day Riot: http://www.myspace.com/6dayriot And on another note, I'm heading to Jazzlive in the Crypt in Camberwell tonight to catch The Dave Warren Quartet... apparently bop blues and latin! *Na nna nna na na ... on call....* love that new Kings of Leon single....

I saw her do a private London gig last month and I almost cried she was so utterly wonderful... She is simply the best thing around at the moment, although I do favour her older albums over the new one. Also if you like her, try Joanna Newsom: http://www.dragcity.com/bands/newsom.html She's a bit of an aquired taste but give it a go.
  12. Absinthe. The Jazz in the Crypt in Camberwell does it cheap and well. 4 of those and I was chasing a friend down the road and barking. Literally. What fun. Here's to liver damage.
  13. Apparently you're only allowed 2 zombie's per person... How they monitor that, I'd love to know.
  14. Really? 4 squid? Sh*t, didn't realise that on Sunday when I put it on the card... where the hell is that receipt!?!?
  15. Good day to you Jah Lush. Bar Story's under Peckham Rye Station but don't let that put you off! It's great, cocktails, good range of bottled beers, only Star and Guiness on tap but great food and great music. There's also an art gallery behind it. Really nice atmosphere. Minimal but in my opinion relaxed and comfy. It's what my mate would term as 'bojo' - quintessentially South East London. Where the 'students' of the mid/late 90s converge to discuss politics, children, eco friendly bins then drink ridiculously named cocktails till 2 in the morning. Parfait!
  16. I agree on the need for a cig with beer but, unfortunately, we are a minority now. The Rye Hotel has been smoke-free inside since the new year which sucked in January as the heaters outside either burnt your head or did absolutley nada. Having said that I was chatting to Ben from Bar Story on Sunday and he is in the process of creating a smoking area outside that he says will be comfy and hopefully not too cold in the winter. Sigh. Time is running out for us...
  17. For sure Clare, only the flipflop stylee though. Got some on the cheap in lovely Lewisham last year and they never left my feet.... I really can't wait for summer!!!
  18. Ah! A true man. Bravo! And may I say Jah Lush that Jesus Sandals are all the rage, but you must try them in yellow patent leather to make a true spring statement... ;-)
  19. Unless you like good quality handbags and well fitting reasonably priced dresses...
  20. Thank you kindly all! Petals, the new shop on Melbourne Grove, had a spring/summer launch on Saturday just gone, free champagne and chocolate. Very Springy. No reduction on prices, but after a couple of galsses of free booze and cocoa fix I was happy to buy whatever they were selling!
  21. hello... Sorry for the intrusion by a newbie. Not sure where you can just say hi, so though I'd say it here. This Spring I'll mostly be wearing my new dress from Petals. Anyone else go to their thing on Sat?
