Can someone reassure me about St Thomas's!
Annie456 replied to Annie456's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thanks for all the Positive feedback, this is exactly what I needed to hear...I guess the actual labour business seems to be pretty well taken care of and I will try to see them as completely separate (although next time I will certainly consider independent midwives for my AN care...). I dont think there's much point kicking off about the 3 long wait times I've had, and they dont keep records of what time people arrive and when they are seen. I burst into tears when I finally left at 10.30, exhausted and hungry, and the doctor ran after me and took me to a fridge and loaded me up with sandwiches for my taxi home-they knew I'd been waiting so long but it wasn't until I "wasn't ok" that they really paid any attention! I guess I'll have to speak up sooner next time. Thanks again for the reassurance! -
Morning all, I'm due to give birth at St Thomas's in just over a week (tho could be more / less!) but my antenatal care so far has been pretty ropey - have to go to the hospital for all my midwife appointments (one of which was cancelled without telling me) midwife refers me to the "day assessment unit" every time I call to ask him a question (which, yesterday meant a waiting to see a doctor at 3pm and eventually being seen at 9.45pm, because I mentioned a high bump pain at my routine appointment - even though he'd already ruled out pre-eclampsia etc) it all appears to be quite chaotic and disorganised to me and I think I expected more because I specifically chose to go there having heard such good things. I'm now at the point where I'm dreading going in to give birth because I feel like I'm going to have to put up a fight to get decent care and attention (which is DH's job...) I just wondered if anyone else has had a similar ante-natal experience but good birthing experience that will make me feel a little less terrified! I know most people on here will be at kings which is what I will do if there's another one!

Pre-baby splurge on a fab hair do
Annie456 replied to ladyruskin's topic in The Family Room Discussion
oh i've avoided hair dye so far and now 29 weeks...I guess I can hold out a few more weeks. I had a bad reaction last time I had a colour (even using natural products) so I don't want to risk it whilst pregnant. have lots of "natural" highlights now.... :-S Will come back to your advice on stylists when I start my maternity leave :)) -
Hi Clara, I'm 29 weeks and have just started yoga at the Dulwich Therapy rooms (weds morning) I've only been to 1 class but can recommend it so far. I'm keen to try aqua natal too so let me know if you hear of any good ones!

argh I can't make the picnic on the 17th...my mum has organised a party for my nana's 80th birthday on the saturday night (oop North). I'll be 34 weeks by then so it would probably be a bit much to come back down for the sunday picnic. Really gutted as I was hoping to meet some other local mums before I head off on maternity leave!! If anyone fancies meeting mid-week let me know. xx

Hi Ladies, Hope the sickness is now under control? I've just hit the 3rd Tri (yay!) and the nausea is creeping back in (might be the stress of whats to come now that i'm rapidly running out of trimesters!!) I've now cut down my days at work and have wednesdays and thursdays off so if anyone is around and fancies meeting, let me know. I'm about to start the wednesday morning yoga class at the Dulwich Therpay rooms too - anyone go to that one? Annie x

Hi Elizabeth - you're due a week after me so I can keep you company at the back of the queue and like you have been lurking between both groups :-S I've not managed to make any of the meets so far but have started to cut down my days at work now (no more full weeks for me!!) and will have more time and energy to join you. I've got wednesdays off from week after next and will be going to the morning yoga class at the dulwich therapy rooms (i'm a bit late starting at 28 weeks...) anyone else go to that class?

If you complain via the TFL website it asks whether you would like to be notified of the outcome and you can select either email or phone. I went for email so I have everything in writing.

Definitely complain to TFL and include anon quotes from the forum. I complained about a driver only this morning after he shut his doors on me and drove off (I'm 6 mo PG)

Hi Ladies, I'm pretty sure I could make a picnic on the 7th - or a dinner at the pub. Both involve food and therefore are fine by me!! I fear i'm a little bit behind you all though being due right at the end of the summer - are any of you due in August? This is my first pg (and i'm the first of my friends) so would be keen to meet up with other local ladies who can relate to how i'm feeling!! Annie x

Afternoon Ladies, I think I just about qualify for this group with an EDD of 28th August! Would love to join you for the ride despite being right at the back of the line! This is my first pregnancy so feeling quite clueless at the moment! I've only just spotted this thread and can't make it to the meet up tomorrow but would love to join you next time. Am hoping to go to my first JAGS yoga class on tues so may see some of you there. I've left it a bit late to find an NCT class - the only one left is the thursday night course in Nunhead - anyone doing that? Also booked in at Tommys rather than Kings. i will probably sign up for their ante-natal classes but not sure where they are held. Anyone else at Tommys? Looking forward to getting to know you all Annie xx
