matthew123 Wrote: Anyone see the penalty awarded against Real Madrid last night? It was worse than Eduardo. If UEFA had stuck to their original punishment then perhaps the Zurich player may have thought twice before diving. As the clocks were ticking you could Bank on the Zurich player doing a Swiss Roll to gain the Penalty. Hard Cheese on Real though.

Mick Mac Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Brilliant thread from *Bob* - we need more dead > people threads. Keep them coming. I was saying elsewhere Mick that, only last night, we got 9 out of the current "Top 10" threads in The Lounge. Someone spoilt it by writing something totally inconsequential about some irrelevant Subject otherwise we would have been the first to have had a clean sweep since The Beatles back in '66...

I can't remember what the "Non-Death" thread was but I do remember thinking that it was oddly out-of-place at the top of The Lounge..

Moos Wrote: 8 threads on recently dead slightly-famous-to-actually-famous dead people on the first page of the Lounge? Sadly, since the Reaper comes for us all, it seems that there is no end in sight, as the fodder for those that like to start these thread on a daily basis will keep on coming. Thank goodness for the 'mark as read' option. It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform you that nine of the Top 10 threads last night ( at one point) consisted of Tributes/Condolences/Acknowledgements etc) and that did not include "Troubleshooter" Ray Barrett, either. Someone slipped in a thread about something-or-other in between the collective nocturnal mourning, as it were.

When did Heile Selassie change his name to God? Now I rated Mr. Selassie heile, but "God"?? thats strongin' it a bit, ain't it? Must be Jah talking...that reminds me, I haven't played my "Best Of The Bee Gees" lately, which is my favourite Bee Gees Album ( sorry, AP)...

I'm not starting a seperate thread but its quite spooky what happened only yesterday. Watched the fantastic opening sequence ( You Tube) to the original "The Italian Job" with its fabulous drive thru' The St. Bernard Pass in The Italian Alps by Rossano Brassi, while Matt Monro sang the gorgeous "On Days Like These" in the background. Thinking about the talent connected with that 1966 classic British film and enquired who wrote the script. It was Troy Kennedy Martin. Checked to see if he was still alive and he was. 10 hours later I read on the Internet that he had just died at the age of 79.:(
