I don't understand your comments, TE44. I thought this thread was about homeopathy: my question was why an even more diluted version of something that's already homeopathic seems to work better than the original, which people sometimes take under the tongue.

In some supermarkets like Waitrose you can scan as you go. Then it's OK to put them in the bag.

No point asking them unless they're biochemists.

But it has both snails and moules which are my niece's favourites so got to give it a go for that reason alone. Can't risk losing top aunt status, not with my birthday coming up.

Not sure if this counts as homeopathy but everyone I know who uses Rescue Remedy finds it works better if you put a few drops in water than under the tongue. Why is that?

Well, they do sell food and as I had an HOUR to spare before the film started and hadn't had time to eat after work a portion of chips seemed not unreasonable. It's not like I asked the person in the box office to close it while they made something in the staffroom just for me.

Perhaps 'unpleasant' us about the strength of it rather than the smell itself? That's the way it sounded to me, anyway.

I used to go there a lot but gave up when the queues started getting ridiculous post trendification. Have they sorted that out now?

40 minutes to not get s portion of fries. I mean, come on! W Norwood even worse: recently they said a wait of ten mins. After 30 mins I asked politely if it would be soon as worried about missing the start of the film. The woman was really rude and talked to me as like I was trying to report a missing person. When it arrived it was cold. The chicken and avocado burger had literally about a teaspoon of avocado. Instant stomach ache. Is it because they're striking for the London living wage so only feel able to deliver 80%? Night out in zone 3: two tickets to a film, one cold burger and chips, one bottle indifferent red: ?70. Did I say I'm annoyed?

The library had a strong smell of woodsmoke all day today, and it was really strong at the top of Woodwarde Rd. I've been wheezing all day.

I've been to a couple of those in the past. They were fine. Do they have a particular approach? I'm not moving from Honeys in Nunhead, though. Best local hairdresser ever.

It's true to some extent. The Stoics believed it and we all discover the truth of it at times. The new agers just put a magical thinking spin on it. Agree that for anyone with depression, it's about as helpful as saying 'cheer up' or 'pull yourself together', though to be fair perhaps you need to have experience grief or depression to understand how it sounds.

I have some sympathy for dbboy: all a bit patronising when, let's face it, this is about local businesses wanted help and goodwill from locals to help build local trade! Your posts are disengaging some of your target audience. Agree with Abe that few truly reflect ED. It would have been nice to see local landmarks reflected. If you think the village, the gallery and the park are extensions of ED I'm guessing you're new to the area!
