I don't think anyone is saying no events at all. It is a real pleasure to see the park being utilised. When I first moved to the area over 22 years ago it was really under used. For me there just needs to be more consideration given to how to minimise the impact on the neighbouring areas. if I understand it right (it is ages since I did physics) sound travels in straight lines so I suspect he lack of screening is one of the reasons why holding the event on the common area would be more problematic. It's a shame pointing the speakers downwards didn't seem to have more of a positive impact. It would be really interesting to know are there temporary screening options that could help? I found Sunday far worse than today. It seems to be the more bass heavy sets that cause the worst difficulties. some of the more repetitive electronic music yesterday was fairly torturous. Probably fine if you are in the festival itself but from the east side of the park it was not very pleasant.I always feel like that style of music is better in a club environment and suspect that it has to be cranked up to try to make it work in an outdoors area. I like to see the park being used and had hoped that with the promise to direct the speakers down it would help. maybe if it's to happen next year it needs to be a much shorter period. Having the Sunday and Monday is a pain. If it is going to be 2 days why can't it be the Saturday and Sunday so everyone can have a nice relaxing Monday before the majority return to work. Renata whilst I understand that you are keen to bring in revenue why does it go to the whole of Southwark parks service If it's impacting on residents near Peckham rye could it not be ringfenced for Peckham rye. I saw no increase in general upkeep of our park this year and personally the promise of a firework display in Southwark park doesn't really interst me. It's really awkward to get there from this area Can you tell us how much of last years event went directly to peckham rye park and what this years money will be used for?

I wonder if you are able to resolve the situation re the leak and damaged road (on the nunhead side )of the east Dulwich road /peckham rye junction. Over 3 weeks ago someone put up barriers! I suspect to prevent damage to buses cyclists etc from the enormous hole the leak created. But since that point nothing! This junction is very busy especially during the mornings in term time. Given there is a little less traffic now it's extra frustrating that this hasn't been repaired in school holiday time. Whenever there are roadworks at this junction it causes major delays not only for cars but also the buses. I've also seen a number of cyclists struggling to get around the barriers as it already narrows the road. There was a very serious accident approx 9 years ago, on the other side of this junction where a school child was killed during a period of road works. It would be helpful for this to be fixed before most children return to school next week

If budgets for maintaining the park have been cut as suggested in the post regarding the state of Peckham Rye park I can see the logic in allowing events so long as the revenue goes directly back into the park maintenance. I think there should be more consideration to how they can minimise damage to the grass by the lorrys etc. I think anyone who knows that area of the park is aware it does get very boggy in that part of the park when there is rain and we all know you can't rely on bank holiday weather ! I found the noise level on the Sunday pretty annoying. I was puzzled by a couple of comments on the other thread suggesting that the poster couldn't hear any noise by the CO OP, which is much closer than I am and wonder if that was due to the direction of speakers etc as I am north of the park. It may also be that the noise was bouncing off some of the taller flats north of the Rye. Certainly I could hear every word of each track and the DJs sounded like they were in my Garden. I was getting quite frustrated by the end of the day but this was probably because I was conscious it was loud enough to keep distracting my daughter who was trying to revise for A levels. I was therefore worried about the Monday event but found this a much more acceptable level. I wonder if future events could just be one day at a time to minimise the risk of 2 days of disruption. I would be against any plan to locate these type of events on the more open area of the common, as I suspect the lack of trees would mean even less sheilding from the noise. Personally I used the really liked the old Irish festival and when we had the South American festival on the rye as they always seemed more inclusive of local people and feel the Sunday event felt like it was quite a narrow target audience.

Has anyone had any recent experience of converting APS film which has already been developed into Digital prints/ cds I would love to get some of my daughters photos from her first couple of years into a book and I only have the prints and the developed canister. Annoyingly at the time there was an option to get them onto CDs but the extra pound or so seemed a lot more at the time. I've seen a couple of online companies but have a bit of a fear of posting stuff.

Renata I am deeply disturbed by the plan for the future development this is the first time I have seen it and as a person who was affected negatively by the initial development and was part of the group of nearby residents who raised concern about the previous standard of development to see they are increasing the number of properties without even having the courtesy to share thoughts with those of us nearby is distressing. We had 5 years of misery during the development of the site previously - builders consistently breaking agreed times of operation,drilling through sewage pipes of neighbouring properties , ridiculous noise levels etc etc. How can Wandle be allowed to benefit from this disaster by increasing the number of propertiesIn my mind they have neglected what they had residents of the blocks had repeatedly asked them to address issues in the early stages which were ignored and this has contributed to the need to knock down the existing property. My poor neighbours in that development have had a horrific time. No one shoud be in the situation of having to leave their homes in the wY they have been forced to and I am shocked that Wandle are being given the opportunity to potentially mess up even more lives.

Thanks Sally Eva, I felt strongly that it shouldn't have to be repaired using council/ TfL funds the road was resurfaced only a couple of years ago and the reason it's in such terrible condition is that Thames water left it too long to sort out the burst main. First it flooded and then water was left coming up through the road for over a week. Despite numerous reports to Thames water. Lucky it didn't create a sinkhole like the one they ignored in Lewisham recently! But your link will def be useful for other roads thanks anyway

Renata, Whilst they have fixed the leak the road there has been left in a very poor state. The water damage appears fairly extensive . Have they committed to returning the road to a more acceptable condition?

Thank you both for your response. She didn't state younger sons railcard . I just was really uncertain as she looks older than her age an was worried she will be questioned about having a child's ticket. I love the fact she is confident in doing things but it does cause a bit of worry !

Please see the link above. There had been two major fires on their sites I a shirt period. This article all edges they had not followed the correct fire procedures re fire safety on their sites. Greenacre is down in many of the news reports as the developer but the original scheme had been developed by St Aidan's group. They were challenged in the planning process about the fact that they were planning to build the social housing at a more lower specification than the earlier privatly owned development.Southwark was very much aware of this issue and chose to ignore the concerns. In my mind this makes them just as much to blame as Wandle Greenacre and St Aidan's.
