Another vote for General Store!

There is a baby two months younger than my daughter so it shouldn't be a problem. She just said their circumstances have changed so I just assumed it's not working out for them. Thanks for your advice M. Hopefully we will find someone soon.

Hi just wondering if it is normal for a childminder to decide not working out after the settling in period? we are new to this and feeling huge disappointment after hearing the news this morning... Our little one is a bit fussy (all babies are no?) but don't think she is particularly difficult! Poor thing will have to go through the same thing again when we find a new childminder :(

You usually get that in a banquet, esp weddings. So it is up to the host of the banquet to decide. Most of the time, the host (esp older generation) would choose to serve shark fin soup because it shows that you can afford it. If you are not serviing it in a banquet, you are considered as mean so you will lose face. I must say things are changing now. There are alternatives to shark fin soup in most of the restaurants in Hong Kong. I have been to a few banquets that have no shark fins soup served. Guests are equally happy. Not sure if the same change is happening in mainland China tho.

Do all the posters here represent everyone in ED? The complaint is about her being a customer was called lazy and forgetful when she tried to communicate with the shop. G&B is right in terms of sticking to their policy, I think the OP would agree. But who do they think they are to punish their customers by calling them lazy and forgetful??? I dont think it is acceptable.

Went to Goodmans with work a few months ago. The Chilean wagyu ribeye special was certainly the best steak I have ever had. Good selection of starters as well. The tempura king prawns with mango salsa were surprisingly nice, consideing it is a steak house. Also recommend the Goodmans ribeye. Highly recommend The Ledbury. They used to serve one of the best value lunches in town. For 22.5 you could get 3 beautifully cooked courses. Hmm the soffule was to die for... I think they have put the price up to 33.5 now. The dishes are classic, but creative at the same time. Service has always been excellent for both lunch and dinner.

We looked at a few venues locally including Beauberry house. The building + outside area look nice but not impressive. It is not expensive compare to Horniman and Dulwich picture gallery but I don't think the interior make up the difference of the price. We went there for a Sunday lunch to try out the food. They have managed to undercook my lamb (brown on one side and the other side was raw). I complained to the waiter but no exchange/apologies offered. I have only been there once and never went back. We got married last Saturday at a venue in Roehampton. It is not local but it ticks all the boxes on our list. We had a faboulous day:))

Brown rice, sticky rice, you can even use it as a steamer. I bought mine in HK and I use it most days. And no, you do NOT add salt to the rice... I am not saying everyone should invest in a rice cooker, I believe you can cook perfectly tasty rice from a saucepan. But using a rice cooker doesn't make you a lazy person.

I have been taking the 0751 train for a long time. I can always get on the train. You just need to walk a little bit further to the end of the platform.

Haha thanks VeryBerryCherry. I love East Aisan food too (maybe because I am from Hong Kong (tu)) I dont mind curry at all, but I would love to see more varieties. I think Cafe Noodle is ok, the stir-fry noodle/rice dishes are nice (and cheap as well!). But only if you want a quick bite instead of a proper sit down meal.

I only tried take away from chopsticks. I think it tasted ok but nothing special. Yes, Vietnamese and Korean would be nice. I used to live in Canada Water, there is a very nice Vietnamese restaurant called Cafe East, very small but the food was amazing. I cant find anything like that around here. To be honest, it is quite hard to find a decent orential restaurant in ED... how sad :(

Wagamama - rubbish. ping pong - microwave food? M&S - don't you think they are seriously overpriced? you can cook a similar dish for the same price but double the portion. yo sushi - people have been to Japan would know how much a plate of salmon sushi cost in a similar style restaurant. Why do you want to pay ?3 for a plate of warm fish on rice stayed on the belt for > 3hours? The real sushi is in Camden (Asakusa) I have enough of those 'upmarket' restaurants with poor quality of food. They stole the idea overseas and then repackage so they can charge more. I just want a decent meal that is honest and authentic.
