I posted this in the classifieds, so sorry if you have already seen this. Death in Tragic Circumstances. £9.99 plus £2.50 postage and packing. Softcover 254 pages. Available on Ebay or PM me direct. Brand new, not for profit, book containing a selection of true stories of murder, mayhem, manslaughter and suicide, victims and perpetrators interred in London's Nunhead Cemetery between the years 1853 and 1935. The true stories of those unfortunate men, women, children and babies, who died at the hands of others, and those tragic men and women who died by their own hand. Sixty three stories, some illustrated with black and white pictures/photographs. A grid plan of the cemetery is included together with the Square and Grave Number of the victim/perpetrator. The gothic Nunhead Cemetery of All Saints in London was opened for burials in 1840. Around 269,000 burials had taken place between 1840 and 1969 when it was abandoned. It was acquired by Southwark Council in 1974.

Yes, you are right, the signs are different at each end of road. Last Thursday I counted 20 plus cars drive through in the time it took me to walk it. The council must be making a fortune.

Council & Thames Water (Title de-sensitised)
Kathleen Olander replied to vladi's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
A Thames Water operative told me the vehicles used by Conway's to resurface EDG are meant for use on motorways and are too heavy. He also confirmed that the school coaches, buses and extra traffic caused by LTN's increases the chances of water pipes fracturing due to constant weight of traffic. -

Ex offenders selling on the door steps - SE22
Kathleen Olander replied to Caesi01's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Here is advice our Neighbourhood Watch was given. Our neighbourhood Police Team gave this advice: "regarding the area increasingly being targeted by hawkers selling stuff from massive backpacks that they carry and them being threatening and being abusive and aggressive”. We (SAFER NEIGHBOURHOOD POLICE TEAM) have increased our foot and mobile patrol in the area recently. We are aiming to stop them and deal with any apparent and alleged offences. I would advise you to call 999 if they become threatening and abusive and aggressive toward the residents as it clearly counts as public order offences. This would help us to stop and identify them and collect evidence while they are still in the area. Kind Regards, PC ADHIKARI – 2208AS" -
Post not being delivered by Royal Mail
Kathleen Olander replied to gazzam's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Agreed most flyers are not delivered by Royal Mail. However, some are. At a time when they are overwhelmed with undelivered post they should get on with that, rather than taking on new business and delivering stuff that is mostly unwanted. -

I doubt these menus are being delivered by Royal Mail! Yes they are, yesterday we had a roofers leaflet delivered with our post by our regular postman. -
House mice are usually grey. If you only have one and it's brown it could be a field mouse that's got in by accident? I would catch it and release it in the garden.

What a shocker. That really gives me no confidence in Southwark at all. As for shouty woman, Catherine Rose, how rude! It's also true that the Labour Party Councillors Newens and Leeming in their numerous leafleting did not mention the LTN's once!

It;s a petition to the World's governments that already has 700,000 signatures This is the aim:- To world governments: We call on you to help stop the brutal crackdown against women, children and peaceful protesters in Iran. Help free those unlawfully detained, stop the death sentences, and set up an independent UN mechanism to investigate and end impunity for grave crimes in Iran. Global pressure works and must include targeted sanctions on Iranian officials and institutions responsible for the violence and human rights violations.

New Street Furniture Dulwich Village
Kathleen Olander replied to smooch's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Anyone know what happened to the expensive seating that appeared in the road one day, in front of the barbers and Romeo Jones in Dulwich Village? It's gone!! -
One of the planter barriers has been moved to one side again outside Harold George. confusing if you are in a car as gap big enough to drive a bus through now. What happened to the posh seating that appeared in the road almost outside Romeo Jones last year, just noticed it's disappeared?
