It's a mirror maze. -
Reliable and professional, Terry McGinley is a real find and I can't recommend him too highly. Honest and straightforward to deal with, Terry does a great job. Telephone 07590208231. Debbie

Nunhead community centre Ivy House The Pyrotechnists Arms have a pretty room at back that would make a lovely sit down venue -

there are some Hope and Greenwood truffles on sale in one of the pound shops in Peckham. Naturally I can't divulge which one or they will all be gone but it does make me smile to see them there!

New Shops in Dulwich / Peckham
Peckhampoet replied to LondonMix's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
.... and a new Vietnamese restaurant opening near Rosies I spotted last night... -
service seems more reliable since the changes so I am guessing that is why they made the change. It's a bottle neck into H&I when the service falls down. There are more platforms at DJ to play with. personally I am just happy to have the later trains from Victoria at 9/39 past the hour. It's made my journey much easier.

New Films Featuring East Dulwich
Peckhampoet replied to sandyman's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Super Bob was shown at the Peckham Free Film Festival and it went down a storm. It's such a great film! Scenes in Rye Lane and Choumert Road, on the common and generally around the area. Also look out for Public House, a documentary film by Sarah Turner featuring the Ivy House. -

Best route to Paddington Rail Station ?
Peckhampoet replied to intexasatthe moment's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I go to Paddington every day and 176 bus is a good to E&C and Bakerloo Line as long as you can find space on the bus for luggage. Get off opposite the Bakerloo station entrance. Allow for time at E&C as there is only one lift in operation at the moment. Option 2 is train to Victoria and Victoria Line to Oxford Circus and cross platform change onto Bakerloo. Option 3 is London Bridge route and Jubilee Line to Baker Street and change onto Bakerloo Line. No lift at moment so you will need to take luggage down two escalators. Option 4 to Farringdon and change onto Hammersmith and City works ok but you will arrive at back end of station and may have a hike back to front of station for your train - depends which platform you need. If you go for this option I recommend back of the train so that you can walk back to the lift with your luggage and go up to ticket hall and across to platform for Hammersmith and City. -
Quick! Two tickets for sale on the for sale section...

I don't see the point of this thread. East Dulwich is well established and much bigger than my beloved Nunhead and I like it for different reasons. I love living i SE15 because I have access to the vibrant and diverse communities that make up ED, eckham and Nunhead - also Brockley, New Cross, Honor Oak Park and Forest Hill. Lets just celebrate and support our local businesses and organisations wherever they are and stop trying to point score.

Renamed Beaumont but still going strong. Nunhead is a great place to live.

New farmers' market in Horniman Gardens
Peckhampoet replied to sglanzer's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
do support this great market! I went yesterday and was really impressed at the mix of stalls plus the veg stall is Lewisham market prices! It's a great location with picnic table space for impromptu picnics too. Well done Horniman! -
Diverted 63 bus route - Marmora & Therapia Roads
Peckhampoet replied to OD's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The message about inconsiderate parking was still being displayed at the bus stop at 10pm at Peckham Rye tonight. This sounds like a really badly managed scenario by TFL and the council. I live in Ivydale Road and my flat vibrates every time a P12 goes by so goodness only knows what a 63 feels like. Plus we regularly have stand offs as the buses try to negotiate their way around parked cars. delivery vehicles, recycling and refuse treks, etc. Frankly I think P12 bus drivers deserve every penny they earn. I hope the 63 situation improves soon for you all. -

Two brands that have really lost their way in recent times. No longer a pleasure to shop in either with their tired interiors and lacklustre offering.

It is so awful to read about what happened to this poor woman. Imagine having your front door kicked in! I am shaking my head in despair. Thank goodness she is ok but how shocking.

Cheap groceries around Dulwich?
Peckhampoet replied to Jphobia's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Good blog! I am also an Asda fan and recommend Smart Price yoghurt at 55p, mozarella at 44p and salad cheese at 75p. Old fashioned prices! I posh up the mozarella with herbs, olive oil and lemon juice some times. The salad cheese is great chopped in salad or used it with mint in an omelette once and it was divine. A little goes a long way. I also love their peanut butter at 62p which is a nice mix of smooth and crunchy! Oh and digestive biscuits as a treat for around 25p a packet.
