Hi folks, I've had this everlasting cold thats going round for nearly 2 months now.. I have been advised that a B12 injection may help. Does anyone know where I may get one of those....?

HI we are playing at All saints food hall next to peckham rye station tomorrow between 5 and 7. Two of our band are down with the lurgy. Doing a bunch of well know covers, van morrison, bowie, whats's going on etc.. Particualrly need a bass player.. and keys also if any one fancues. obviously unpaid, but friends are welcome and the space is great, with a PA and keys already there. 07960288053 if you think you can help.

Sound system / street party in DHFC car park?
danmaitland replied to zork's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
something similar just kicked off in peckham rye park.. -
Hi folks. I am bit stranded golfwise. Despite our glorius leaders' examples, I don't want to go driving all over greater london just for a round of golf. I was wondering if any aquarious members need a partner for a round. I have put in a membership enquiry, but as expected there is a backlog.. I know at least four good jokes, can hit the ball straightish and won't hold you up with excessive dithering.. many thanks Dan (or as my chums call me Tiger Wouldn't)

I spoke the guys actually and they were very nice. Happy to turn the music down a little bit which was all it needed. It was just the bass. BTW re expensive house, that would be nice - we are three people sharing a rented flat at the top of a building that is divided into four other flats.
-
really? doesn't bother anyone else...??

Is it me being an old fogey or is the music too loud? We are the other side of the park and can hear it clearly all day.. kind of wears you down - especially as it's on for 9 days and too hot now to keep windows closed.

ours just went off now.. anyone else? #

thanks.

Its not bad at all actually. Barely any noise. Just looked like it was going to be a problem when they erected their borders so close to our house..But it's fine so far and looks very evocative - reminding me of that Wim Wenders film, and various Tom waits-esque videos...Thanks for the mostly constructive comments. I retract my previous troll whinge, with the exception of Marumba, who is obviously a, not sure one's allowed to use that word on here, Dick... But at least they've been noticed by someone now, so that should cheer them up...

Yeah. First time I've really raised any issue on this forum.. I heard that I would get trolled.. Guess they were right. wrong forum. My bad..

They are setting up the circus/funfair right outside our house, we live along peckham rye, round the corner from the clockhouse pub. There are a hell of a lot of residents along this road. I wonder if you guys would be as keen on the circus coming to town were it setting up 40 yards from your front door. I don't understand why they are not in the middle of the park. No problem at all in living opposite a park - great to see and hear peckham and dulwich folks having fun, but I didn't aniticipate amount of external organisations that the council would rent the space to.. and of course the amount of noise pollution we would have to put up with.. Wouldn't dulwich park work better, as it would be easy to site it away from residents? Anyway, maybe it won't be that bad. Does anyone go to the circus anymore?

ah, fair enough. I didnt know that.. A lot of drummers like to use their own kit in my experience.. gives them an excuse to keep us all waiting.... -

looks good thanks. No parking though by the looks.. bit of a downside for bands.. also charging extra for mics is a bit unusual.. anyway the rooms do look nice... -
This may be some sort of mid life crisis, but I am a professional ex touring, now teaching musician, who finds himself suddenly yearning to start his first ever garage band. I am looking for a drummer and bassist(I dont mind swapping this role with another guitarist) who don't mind singing too. Thinking Jam rather than Hendrix (not that theres anything wrong with him), Talking heads 77, Radiohead, The Shins, Police etc..... Happy to do a few a covers, but have lots of original songs and would be looking to Jam up some more, plus would welcome others' good originals.. Please dont be too busy (the London disease) to rehearse at least once a week. Scruffy and fun for sure, but I am looking for musicians of a reasonable standard I have played more acoustic than electric up to now, so I should then right mix of competent and scruffy too.. Thanks for reading All the best Dan

As the title says. I am a self employed musician/ mmusic teacher and lots of my work is in the early evenings and I often find myself yearning for the wide open fairways of a daytime, but am short of club bashing partners... I mostly play at beckenham but also a few other localish - cheapish places... I am about an 18 handicap so not too scary... Anyone looking for such illicit daytime tomfoolery, please let me know.. Cheers Dan
